Is the glass roof colder in the winter
So I'm thinking of ordering a GT soon and the glass roof really intrigues me. Today I was in the wife's Pilot and opened the sunroof shade to let some sun heat up the car a little but I could feel a chill and closed the cover. Considering it is winter for the northern states I'm wondering if any of those who have the glass roof have noticed a similar issue or does the roll away cover take care of this.
Thnx

It doesn't get that cold where I live so I'm no use to you. But I do want to increase my post count. ![Big Grin](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Also, after 8 months of ownership I love the glass roof!

I think Ford says there's a about a 2 degree difference between a glass and traditional roof. It was 18 degrees when I left the house this morning, and I didn't feel any cold whatsoever. If you can fit it in your budget, get it! It's well worth it.

I've got a glass roof but I don't drive my Mustang in the winter. I would think that if you've got the car sitting outside on a sunny day, the glass roof would help warm up the interior. When you're on the move, though, maybe it would shed heat faster than the steel roof. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to drive two differently-roofed Mustangs at the same time down the same road, with some accurate thermometers in various places in each car.

Very cold where I live lately (-3 outside when I started my car up this AM... no garage for it). If I open the sunshade, I can feel it's a bit chillier up there. But with shade closed, it's fine.
It's insignificant compared to the coolness of the glass roof.

Makes sense anyway - even with a steel roof, from the door line on up, the car is mostly glass, and it's not like you feel any cold from it once the heat is on.

I'd imagine any roof would be colder in the winter. ![Wink](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
thought for sure I'd only be happy with the glass roof but I got mine without it and honestly I wouldn't change to the glass roof at this point even given the option.
If it were retractable that would make a difference to me, but honestly in this kind of car I'm not sure I want an interior with more light in it. Take it fwiw but I really had myself convinced about the glass roof, changed my mind, and I'm happy I did.

Anyone have a pic with the shade closed or partially closed? curious to see what it looks like... never seen a glass roof stang in person, and never seen a pic of one with the shade drawn to see how its designed/works.

At this point I couldn't live w/o the glass roof. I notice it immediately if i left the shade closed cuz it feels a lot tighter inside

The pics have made my mind up that I want the glass roof. Thanks for posting.
Just one question. Does the shade go all the way back or just to the point you've shown in the pic?
Thnx

While i'm really happy with my Mustang, that glass roof would have been an option I would have like to have. But unfortunately I was too anxious and the one on the lot had everything I wanted at the time plus more.
