Also true for the 3.55 axle.

I often start in 2nd unless heading uphill. I also do a lot of 1-3-5 shifting.

To the OP. Take a look at where your RPM's are when you first start in 2nd. Now when you shift from 1st to 2nd, notice where the RPM's have dropped to and when 2nd engages, watch where those RPM's "lurch" to. What you need to do is rev matching. Try revving your RPM's up to where your 2nd gear engages and then slip the clutch. It'll be smooth as butter

I will definitely give that a try tomorrow! I'm pretty used to rev matching while downshifting but never really considered it while up shifting. It makes perfect sense though. Thanks a lot!

Yeah that...sorry OP but it sounds a lot like operator error in your case. At what RPM are you shifting from first to second?

Haha I'm starting to see its my error which is ok, I wanted to make this thread to find out exactly!! I usually shift around 3000-3200 rpm. If its under that usually skip shift engages and wants to lock out 2nd gear

You should be able to shift in any gear you want with ease. Can the skip shift and put a MGW in it. Be done with it.

I'm definitely looking into the MGW short throw shifters. Any suggestions on where I could get one at a decent price?

I see a lot of people here having issues with shifting,...I must be in a different car because I don't have any problem shifting in any gear nor do I miss any shifts. Strange.

MGW directly. Just google and order straight from them. They are built to order I believe.

The MGW retains the reverse lockout exactly the same as the stock shifter, push shifter down, left, forward

Couldn't agree more. Almost 4k on my 2013 and not one issue with shifting any of the six gears. Love it.
