Future Mustang "Sedan" and "Wagon" Recap
Well now we know that the D2C platform has spawned the Interceptor Concept and MKR, both projects which just some minor changes can be put into production in about 24-26 months. I was wondering where this Wagon thing was coming from and its finally out of the bag according to information posted on Edmunds orginally and re-posted to Blue Oval News.
According to a "Ford Insider" on Edmunds, everyone jumping to conclusions about the Explorer and it moving to a Car based platform, which everyone assumed was the D3 platform (500/Freestyle) and this was his words:
So its quite possible that by 2010 the current Mustang platform could be spawing a new RWD Sedan and a SUV/CUV, in addition to the Mustang finally getting IRS

It's ironic how the media reported that the Explorer would be car-based, everyone perceived it to be D3 based. Has anyone Intercepted the idea that the next Explorer could be a RWD offspring of something else? I mean, the Freestyle was/is an offspring of the 500.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, still Ford needs to keep it's line up fresh while it's gets ready (in a supposed 24 months) to start rolling out the Interceptor, Next Stang, and hopefully MKR. Still this seems to good (but vague) news.
