Fuel inlet

My 2013 mustang started giving a fuel inlet error. I took it to a Ford dealership. They cleaned my fuel inlet which is capless. Did a system reset etc... About a week later the warning came back. I was told a valve and a differential hose. 3 weeks later on top of the warning I have a leak in my passenger floor board. Fords diagnostic was going to cost over 1000.00. I didnt know how I was going to get that let alone this. Someone suggested I had a clog in my windshield run off reservoir. So I lifted the hood pulled off the passenger cover. It has 2 pins that had plastic screws. Sure enough, my cabin filter was soaked and I had water that was getting into my heater fan. I took it down to the car wash and used the hose to vacuum out the water. You could see clearly the rubber gasket where it drains was clogged with mud and debri. I pulled the gasket off and cleaned it. I bought a new cabin filter. It was easy to replace, (dont throw the reusable housing away) and it was around 11.00 at advanced auto. My light is gone. I think there is a sensor in the fan that might fault the inlet light. I'm no expert and googled forums scenarios anything that would cause the problem. Nothing I found menchions this. So I hope I helped someone. What was 1000 supposed fix ended up being 11.00. Glad I figured it out. The leak sucked in my floor board but ended up being a blessing.

The fuel inlet code should have nothing to do with the water leak, unless the SJB was getting wet and shorted. I had the inlet error and cleaned it myself with WD-40 and using the small funnel that comes with the car to open/close the fuel inlet maybe 50 times very fast while spraying. I reset the codes and it stayed away for close to a year. Cleaned again and so far, so good.

Funny thing is if your car is under 80,000 miles the Federal Emissions warranty is still present on your Mustang but if not this is the Purge Valve that is probably acting up I got for under $18 on Ebay and if has 2 bolts and 2 clips on it.
