Front grill swap
Front grill swap
So, my 2011 Mustang purchase came pretty well equipped, but it does not have the front grill with fog lights, A feature unique it looks like to the GT models. I did not see it offered as a coupe premium additional option, or perhaps was not offered on the V6 equipped Mustangs?
Anyhow, Can a grill with fogs be swapped into a 2011 V6 coupe? I've looked on Ebay for these grill, and see alot of 2011/2012 grills with gog lights for sale, but they say they are not compatable with the base model. Is the front facia different between the GT's and V6 coupes in the area of the grill?
Anyone have any experience with this swap?

You would need to change the whole front fascia. the GT grille won't fit a V6 fascia.

Good to know the GT grill will not fit....is there a V6 grill out there with built in fogs? I have looked around the WEB, but have not located one. Maybe there is no such thing (perhaps it blocks too much airflow to the radiator).
I did find a kit that has everything to add factory OEM style lower fogs to my V6 coupe, it even includes the factory light switch. I may go this route.

This question has been asked so many times, I'm surprised that there is still no kit out there that lets you swap the grill only and has mounts for fog lamps in it. There certainly seems to be demand for it.
If you've got a V6 and simply want to add fog lamps and they don't have to be in the grill, you can buy the parts from Ford. They had a kit at www.v6mustangstuff.com that includes the fog lamps, the mounting hardware, the wiring harness, and the replacement headlight switch to give you fog lamps just like the ones in the V6 Pony Package. When I checked their web site just now it wouldn't come up, so I don't know if they are just having a temporary problem with the site or if they've gone out of business.

And to Bones302, see my first post (#1). I asked if there was a grill kit with fogs. Splitting hairs with you!
