Fraking thieves...

OK my with has a less then month old 2014 GT convertible with Nav package.
she works 12 hours days and normally drives with radio off to unwind.

well tonight she wanted to use the Nav on the way home.

she gets no sound from the system.
the screen works but nothing else.

when she gets home i go to troubleshoot.
seems sometime within the last 5 days someone got into the car and ripped out the Sat/Nav/ Radio box from under the passenger dash. WTF!!!!

three questions

Question 1)
Is this a common thing stealing the radio units from the cars?

No one ever broke into out other convertible we traded in on the Mustang.

Question 2)
We had the car built with Factory Securilock Pass Anti Theft and then added the RR sensing system/Security package.

What the hell do those do because the alarm never went off?

We kinda have it figured out now as to the time frame the receiver was stolen. was when she was at the doctors for a check up. We had out puppy in the car. he was acting weird she says after she got out of the doctors office. now we know why.

Question 3)

beside the factory stuff mentioned in the above question, how is everyone else protecting their convertible?

The car is locked in the garage when we are not driving it.

Thanks for any advice.

BTW. i just happen to have the receivers ESN as i was going to add it to our sirius account

Never heard of people stealing receivers, usually its the head unit, shift *****, steering wheels etc. In most cases they will rip the cloth 'vert top with a knife and help themselves.

Unless you can find a new OEM receiver on ebay or a discount site you sir are S.O.L and will have to get the dealer to order you one which wont be cheap. The anti theft system on these cars features motion sensors, you said your dog was in the car so your wife probably didnt double lock the car (twice click on the remote to active it) otherwise the dog moving inside would have set it off.

I would think someone had to be 'Ford factory trained' to steal something like this. Just saying......

Maybe they should develop an app that has a built-in spellchecker. with everyone so gung ho about spellcheck and grammar, I make sure I triple checked mine whenever I post.

The only thing radio related under the Passenger Side of the dash should be the SYNC module. Why somebody would steal that is beyond me.

Its getting to a point where I feel like I need to submit my posts to someone so they can proof read them before I dare to post them.

unless there are actually wires hanging from uner the dash, i bet its just an electrical issue that the dealer can fix. If someone broke into the car they would take more than a box under the dash. Plus there is nothing under the dash that can be pulled out without removing panels so unless the thief carefully put your glove box and panels back in place im sure your looking for something that was never there and assumed it was stolen.

No signs of break in? You left a dog in the car unattended? Did you leave the keys in the car too? Need more info, How did you TROUBLESHOOT? what makes you think the receiver is missing? did you go behind the dash and check?

Sounds like a Ford employee.

Anything from from tire gauges to hats were stolen from my first Mustang. I learned from experience...but ripping crap from under your dash is just angering!

Id beat some @ss if I were you.

Forgive my grammar lol
