In other words, turn it into an actual functioning cowl induction hood

What about the hips, Steven Perhaps it's just me, but IMO hips were what the current 05-09's were lacking.

I would have killed for hips on the 05-09, but now I'm not loving it. This car just doesn't look coherent. There are too many competing shapes, lines, and styles. While there are many aspects of the 10 that I really like, for some reason the whole package together does not make me want to give up my 08. The new design is not a failure, but it won't stop Ford's bankruptcy either.

I can honestly say I love the new interior. I would not have any issues having it in my 2007. The gauges, console, dash, doors, etc. The exterior just does nothing for me, and tacking on scoops and wings exacerbates that issue. The black rockers, rear bumper and the bottom of the front bumper really annoy me and make the car look unfinished. This is what it looks like in my mind:

Doesn't this look so much better?

The hood scoop, side scoops, and louvers look tacked on. However, the blackout between the taillights looks sweet.

Although I really like the hips, and new interior. I also feel the same way in which the 2010 as a whole, just does not convince me enough for wanting to give up my current 05

OMG.... Hell Just Froze Over! Cause You and I Agree! About the Scoop that is.

I do kinda like how the Bottom, and Pedestals of the Spoiler are Black, but I still Hate That Black Ribbed Panel, it Looks Horrible! It does away with the Concave look of that section. Someone at Ford in the Marketing Dept. is either Seriously Pushing all of the Add On Crap, or they are trying to tack stuff on an already good design because they're trying to Appease those who have made Negative Comments. We keep seeing more and more of the 2010's out In the Real World With EVERYTHING added onto It, like that Blue car at Home Depot.

A lot of guys seem to love the "hips", but I'm not that impressed. The same styling element is on the new Camaro and I don't particularly like it there either.

Remember the old Dodge Conquest and Mitsubishi Starion? I absolutely loved the shape of that car, especially the sides and the aggressive shape of its fenders. Not that I think a Mustang should like like that, but rather pointing out the type of aggressive styling that looks good to me. Maybe that's why I prefer the more aggressive fender flares of the '05 cars. I wish they would have kept those on the 2010.

Yeah, what is that "thing" on top of the hood?

That's the difference between a company like BMW and a company like Ford. BMW only adds functional aesthetic pieces if they improve performance, and Ford adds aesthetic pieces that serve no performance function whatsoever.

One word: tacky.

Which Starion/Conquest? The Early Ones with the Flat Sides, or the Later Wide Body ones with the Porsche 944 Style Flares?

Those were Hot Cars back in their day. I prefer the Flared Wide Body version myself.

The ones with the bigger flares. A good buddy of mine had one back when I had my 87 GT. We used to race all the time. He NEVER beat me once, LOL.

BTW, did you know that there was a European handling package on those cars that featured even wider rear tires? Looked awesome and handled much better than my GT. I could kill him in a drag race, but in the twistes I had a hard time keeping up.

All of the" add ons" look exactly like what the name implies. Leave the car alone ! KISS -keep it simple st-p-d !

I Just Threw Up On My Keyboard... No Freaking Way! Although the Add On's are Bad, they're Not That Bad! That is the Most Asinine Spoiler Ever Created and Mass Marketed.

Now that I've seen all these things together on the same car, no thanks.

i guess im the only one liking the rear end on this mustang in this thread. the black accents on the rear between the lights and the underside of the wing kinda set it off. reminds me of the 71-73 mustangs of which i wouldnt mind owning one. the black piece between takes out the concave, but still looks sharp to me. i think it adds to the rear that was already lacking..
the front hood scoop definitely has to go.
louvers add a touch but not for me.

I Agree. I was thinking the same thing about that Black Ribbed Panel. It really Reminds me of Washing The 73 Mach 1's My Mom and I used to Own. Except it was Honeycomb to match the Grill Not Ribbed like this. I hope the Aftermarket comes up with a Honeycomb Panel that both Keeps the Concave Shape as well as Matches the Elongated Honeycomb shape of the 2010's Grill.

It was the Black Under Part of the Spoiler that made me think of the 71-73's, especially in that Sunset Gold Color. It Kinda reminds me of my Emberglow 73 Mach 1, that had a Black Spoiler with the Top Painted Emberglow and a Blacked Out Hood.

And while I'm on the Topic of 71-73's, Specifically the 71&72's, that Black Plastic on the 2010's Really Reminds Me of the Black Lower Body Paint on those Year Mach 1's. It makes them Look So Long, Low and Sleek in My Opinion. I guess that's why the Black Plastic doesn't bother me so much.
