Ford how about a Nav Update!!??
Not really...you get to gripe about it, and for free!
Folks, Ford is not the only auto manufacturer that does this. My wive's BMW is the same way. The maps are extreemly out of date, yet there is no update in the stream...yet. And when it comes, it will be a whole lot more than $199.00, and no doubt will require that the car be taken to a BMW show for a BMW tech to install. They are the worst.
Next time, wave the NAV option, buy a portable one for under $150.00, and use the saved cash for another option on the car!

There is no way i am spending $199 for a map update when the maps i have dont even show a highway that has been paved for 30 years. I know you probably dont have much control on that but Ford should do a better job when selecting a map provider....
I havent checked to see if the road is on the maps on my 2012 edge or not but it definitely isnt on my $44k Mustang Gt/CS convertible.....
Maybe they dont think we have paved roads here in alabama???

"In addition, this update includes: Improved voice recognition features, a Sirius radio channel lineup (corrected the channel lineup as a result of combining Sirius with XM) and Improved traffic alerts (moved to middleware 5 traffic feed)."
Specifically, if SYNC is not affected how is it that it has "improved voice recognition features"? Also, what is this "Improved traffic alerts (moved to middleware 5 traffic feed)."? Does that only apply if you have the Sirius Traffic subscription?
Yes I do! Can we get some clarification on this statement:

The improved traffic alerts are exclusive to those customers with Sirius Travel Link.
I hope this helps.

It's my understand that the Navteq update will improve the voice recognition within the navigation software (giving commands for addresses and/or Points of Interest).

Awesome! I'm glad I was able to help.
Like 11SHELBYGT500 said, you may be able to update to version 3.1. PM me your VIN and I'll let you know for sure.

Jacklyn ...
I think everyone would LOVE and APPRECIATE it if the Electronics Package would display ALBUM ART from MP3's on a USB stick. That feature is pretty much standard on any aftermarket DoubleDin Nav system or handheld MP3 player. COuldn't FORD tweak the code on the EP and let it display MP3 album art??? Of course we would also like it backward compatible all the way to 2010 cars ...
