Ford Credit Fee

Have any dealers tried charging a loan fee to use Ford Credit to finance your Mustang?

Ford Credit does not charge an upfront fee, nor do dealers. I worked in finance at our dealership for a couple years and have never heard of a fee for using Ford Credit. High risk lenders (secondaries, not mainstream lenders) charge upfront fees sometimes, but they typically mandate that the dealership has to eat that cost and not pass it along to the customer.

I have purchased four cars through Ford Credit from three different dealers and (like Brian said) was never charged an up-front fee. I did, however, have my dealer run numbers on a Ford Credit lease before I purchased my '10 and there was some sort of up-front or origination fee if I had leased through them. But I ended up purchasing through Ford Credit with no fee.

That fee on a lease is the acquisiton fee. Its $595 plus the tax on it. All leases I figure up I add it into the payments. If paid up front with the 1st payment, it can lower a lease up to $25 a month, depending on tax rates in each state.
