2,000 miles

Nice round number between 1,000 which is a little too soon for me and 3,000 which if you go that long you might as well just wait till 5,000.

I know it's not scientific but its what I do.

Break in oil (factory oil) needs to stay in the engine for at least 3,000 miles. Changing the break in oil to soon can cause the engine to use excessive oil between oil changes. Once the first oil change has been done, I will be changing my oil from here on out at no more than 5,000 miles per change, with 5-W50 oil. it took me years to get out of the habit of going more than 3000 miles even with full sync. It just dont feel right, but after I got over my own issues 5,000 is fine.

I'm sure there are multiple threads for every topic covered here. People change, things change, life changes. So now there is 5001 oil change threads..big deal. Lighten up. BTW this weirdo read the poorly written manual cover to cover.

Mods encourage people to use the search function before creating a new thread on a subject that has probably been covered before. (listen to me, I sound all official and ****) lol

Amen. Follow the manual, and your good with Ford. It's their writing, they have to honor it. Even if you think it's "poor".

Changed at 2k 5k & 8k so far in 2 years of owning. I'd go 5k but don't put that many miles on it per year ...

First oil change was at 7,000. Did another one at 15,000 and a third at 22,500. Got an oil analysis done on the last one. It said I could easily go another 2,000 miles on it, so I'll change it at 32,500 and do another analysis on that.

I understand it to be the same. There will be assembly lube in that first oil for sure. But a person asked an SVT engineer at a car show if there was break in oil in the '13-14 GT500s and he stated it was merely Motorcraft synthetic 5w-50.

One thing that always got me about the people that are like "i didn't floor it till XXX miles" is the simple fact that the majority of these cars, are dynoed right there at the factory, or driven along that big semi-oval they have for a quality shakedown. It would be cool if in the future at least like on a shelby if they had a dyno printout that came with the car. would be kinda kitchy.

nooo. In my case, the delivery was taking forever, so I had the dealership pick up the car and drive it the 50 miles to the dealership. I didn't do my first burnout till a few weeks ago, but it was floored the first time I hit open road, lol.
