Finally test drove a 2011 GT...wasn't that impressed
You can tell what the car left the factory with by checking the axle code on the door tag.
An explanation of the codes can be found here:
Axle Ratio Codes
The axle ratios are:
• BB - 3.73 ratio, base vehicle with manual or automatic transmission
• CC - 2.73 ratio
• DD - 3.55 ratio with manual transmission
• GG - 3.31 ration with automatic transmission
• YY - 3.15 ratio with automatic transmission

The specs for the 5.0GT Convertible are 3.31 gears.
No other option, like everybody says.
However looking at my door tag, it shows DD for axle. So according to above chart I have 3.55's.
Maybe Canadian GT convertibles have diff ratio?
Or maybe it is a function of the Brembo package that gives it diff gears?
Can some other GT Convertible drivers check their door tag?
Hmmm I don't mean to hjack this thread but this brings up a whole new interesting question.

Interesting replies. I would have agreed with the op until I got to about 2000 miles. Either the motor finally loosened up a bit, i learned how to drive it... or both....but it feels like a rocket now. I thought my tuned 2009 was qui k but this car would run circles around my old gt.
One thing I've noticed is that if you're trying to pass someone it's much better to drop it two gears lower, not just one. If you're at 2000 RPM, dropping it one gear will at best put it to 3000 RPM. You want to be closer to 4000 RPM. Not joking, it goes alright from 2000-4000 RPM, but around 4500 RPM you can feel it pushing you back in your seat even more.

You drove the wrong one, that's why. I felt that way when I drove the 2010, not a BBP equipped 2011.
You dont have to worry about dropping 2 gears. If you are below 60 drop to 2nd. If you are below 75 drop to 3rd. if you are below 100 drop to 4th. That is if it makes sense. You dont want to drop to that gear for 5 mph and have to shift up. Shift to the lowest gear you can at that speed. This transmission requires a diffrent driving style that some people dont get right away. Thats the main reason for the "does not feel quicker then my 92 civic" posts.
