Finally......
When I say avoidable and you want to get technical, I mean the chances of rock chips are GREATLY REDUCED. When I say greatly, I mean a WHOLE LOT. Wraps are available for the WHOLE HOOD, WHOLE FENDERS, WHOLE BUMPERS, and yes, the whole car. Just fork out the dough/$$$. So balance your need to clear bra with your budget. Some folks wrap their whole car. Rock chips occur on the front of the vehicle, and the lower rockers. You wrap those, and yes, rock chips are avoidable.
Yeah, agreed. Greatly reduced, yeah. But still inevitable. Wrapping your whole car with a plastic application just reminds me of those old Italian ladies that would wrap their couches in plastic to avoid getting stains on their couches which I think is just going overboard ha ha. I would rather just drive the car myself, keep it for as long as we can and enjoy it and then just buy another one after once the current ride is old and tired.
Has anyone ever seen or known anyone with a clearbra on a car after 7+ years of having the sun beat on the clear bra? does anyone know if the plastic eventually changes color due to heat intensity and material breakdown?
I haven't ....
unless you wrap 100% of your car, rock chips are inevitable. I have stone chips on the roofline of the hood. I've got chips the have taken chunks off the Mustang Club of America on both sides of my doors ( who would have figured) and all over the front side of the car.
Point being I am driving and enjoying my car, not saving it for the next S.O.B. after me to enjoy.

Xpel has a 10 year warranty too, for any defect in that time frame.
Same. I'm hoping to put 300k on mine or more. My older GSR had about 280k when I traded it in. I drove that hard 10x harder than my mustang up till the point when I traded it. (I fear I will break my mustang lol)
anyway, yeah. drive it like you stole it, I say.
10 year warranty is pretty impressive.
My 2014 GT "Garage Queen" doesn't hardly get driven as it is just 1 of 9 vehicles in the household. I have 3 foxes, 1 new edge, S4 Audi, Tahoe, 2500 Ram, Dakota etc...
It makes me happy keeping the 2014 GT in showroom condition and if I want to go real fast, I'll get out one of my Turbo Foxes.
If I only had the one Mustang, I would drive it all the time. When I was in High School and College, I would not think twice about daily driving any of my Foxes. Now that I have many vehicles at my disposal, and not as much time as I use to (married, family etc..), I like keeping the 2014 like new and low miles.
My Bimini Blue 92 Notch 5.0 (my N/A bolt on car) I have driven cross country multiple times and has over 200k original miles on it. I enjoyed every mile, but has taken its toll on the old girl. Mechanically it's still perfect. No rust as I resisted ever driving in major snow/salt (got caught in a few snowstorms in college), but the paint has many nicks, scratches, that bother me and someday is going to get completely disassembled and restored to like new and then will be another "garage queen"!
My 90GT I got summer after high school is still in mostly great condition with under 80k original miles (I bought with 30k miles). It's modified now with a turbo setup and C4 trans. It does show rock chips in the front paint which has always bothered me and is probably why I try so hard to keep the 2014 GT like new.
One major decision to get a white car was so I didn't see any of the fine scratches and swirls over the years. My first 5.0 was a Black 87 GT when I was 16 and I swear I was washing it every couple days. I agree that clean black is one of the best colors for a car. My Audi, Tahoe, and Ram are black and was almost going to get a Black 2014, but ordered white. I had an Oxford White LX 5.0 Hatchback my junior year of high school and was a fun car that started me drag racing (street & strip).
