No way.....it will be my toy when I am retired.....actually, I have had 2 Mustangs since October of 2011 and neither one has ever had a car wash...only detail spray or California Duster.....neither had/has ever seen rain, stored from end of October to April......actually cleaner than the day I picked it up.....weird but it makes me happy.....

You should drive it more. You sound like my fiancee. She bought her 07 GT used in March of 2010 with 6,900 miles on it. She now only has about 17,800 miles on it now.
In August I will have had my 14 GT for two years and I only have about 12,300 miles on it. I park it mostly from November through March when the weather is bad.

My bad weather and grocery getter is a 2014 Fusion that I got at the very end of December. I'm still waiting to see 2000 miles on it.

I just turned 2300 miles last week. Mine also has never seen water or rain and gets wiped down with Wizards Mist n Shine after most every drive. I love looking at it clean sitting in the shop!

Same here....never been washed ( neither of my Mustangs have been).......under the hood, the engine/trunk/doors are all spotless and dustless....again, to each his own but that makes me happy!!!! I can pop the hood, have a glass of wine or beer and just stand and look at it!!! It is like a piece of art!!! And like I said, each time I get in it, it is like driving it for the first time....

I respect your point of view but you also have to live today. I quit thinking about retirement and just live every day finding something I enjoy. I will be set up nice for retirement money wise but I am not going to not live today because I am waiting for it. No one is guaranteed tomorrow, either.

^this x1000. I think as beautiful as these cars are, they need to be driven and enjoyed by their owners. You never know what might happen tomorrow so live and enjoy what you have today with no regrets. That's why I just stopped caring so much about what will happen to the paint, wheels, the wear and tear etc... I just drive it and use it because it's fun and makes me happy.

We all enjoy them in our own way.....it would bother me more and I would enjoy it less if it was driven daily or driven in crappy weather and became covered in scratches and door dings....and no nothing lasts forever, but they last longer if not driven constantly ( if you are able).....and yes...it is my garage queen!!!!

Mine's a garage queen too when appropriate. But she likes to get out as much as possible among her subjects....the rabble, the peons, and the lesser people. That's what a good queen does.

Like other posters said, each person has a definition of what makes them "happy". Some it's driving. Some it's storing and keeping her mint.

Idc if I had a 1 of 1 (I certainly don't) but like I say about all cars, they weren't built to sit in a garage or storage unit their whole life. They were built to be driven. Especially so with cars like ours and even exotics. Let the horses run free like a mustang should and rack up the (s)miles! I got my soccer in September 2011 new with 67 miles on the clock and it now has 60840 miles exactly. And I've loved every mile.

... but what if making one "happy" means keeping it clean, swirl free, scratch free, and low miles? Because I guarantee you if I drove mine everyday and it got scratched, chipped, or dinged, plus wear and tear, I would NOT be happy.
lol.
