A few options for my new paint job...a few questions, and opinions wanted please!

As many of you saw, my car was vandalized pretty bad and will require a complete paint job all the way around.

Ive taken my 5.0 to a wonderful body shop in Houston where the owner of the shop has fallen in love with my car and wants to take extra special care and attention to it. My car is originally a black car.

I have a few options:

1. Completely redone in black, with an extra coat of clear along with several levels of micro-sanding/buffing to eliminate all orange peel and give it a super slick, thick and deep finish

2. He offered to add a little colored pearl to the paint if I would like in addition to the super slick finish.

Can any of you tell me how blue or red pearl would look over a black paint job?

Ideally I would like the car to look totally black, with only minor hints of blue or red in the highlights from the sun or lights. I guess it would be like an iridescent black paint job that im looking for.

What do you guys think?? Would I end up with a really dark red or really dark blue car in all lighting or would I get the highlighting effect I'm looking for?

Perhaps I should just stick with the super slick black paint job?

I am pretty set on option one but if option 2 will yield the results im looking for, I want to go that route. I have until Monday to decide.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section... didn't really know where this topic fit best.

Thanks!

The super finished black sounds best.

The colored pearl will be too much according to your description of what you want.

The painter could put a little flake in the paint to give it the highlights in the sun that you describe.

Also, while it's being painted you could get the skirts and diaper painted too.

I love the metallic blacks. Look around for several factory colors; that way you know what it will look like, and it'll be easy to match next time. Ford's Tuxedo Black is metallic and very pretty too.

If you want it to be black, then just stay black. But I say go for red pearls. It would be unique for sure.

Actually I kind of like the Kona and black two tone. Not quite right for me, but interesting.

Deep black. Though I'd be interested in seeing the blue highlights option.

Btw, what hood is that on the blue/black '10+? That's the only thing on that car I like.

That's a cowl hood of some kind. If you look at the spear areas on the sides of the raised section, they go farther toward the front than the stock hood.

If it were me, I would do Black with a Blue pearl. Subtle differences are very cool.....

Or check out other car makers options for Black paint. Mercedes had real nice metallic black a couple years back.

I voted red pearl because I don't know if blue pearl would look Kona Blue-ish

Red pearl! He has red interior guys...I think blue on the outside would be a bit much. A super dark black cherry would look awesome on these cars!
