Exterior Appearance Makeover
OP,
Personally, I really like the Boss/CS front fasica, so I wouldn't change it. Actually, your whole Mustang is wicked looking! But, I understand you're searching for a change so, I would only switch the rear to the 2013 GT500 setup. The twin tip exhaust would really go well with your current look. Painted side skirts is a nice clean look as well.
Good luck with your decision!

It has always been that the lower models had this black plastic stuff and the more luxury models had painted pieces. (F150, Sport Trac, Explorer etc.) the XL and Base models had black plastic whereas the Limited and Lariat has painted pieces.
So when I see the plastic on my car it has always given me a "you bought the budget model" feeling. SO I think painting the plastic makes it look classier...
Heres another pic I Photoshopped:

Just wanted to say that I had a look I wanted for my stang..and now I have to change it because you basically have what I wanted mine to look like. If we didn't live in the same state I would say the hell with it lol!
Looks great man!

I really like it and will never paint mine. It gives it that 'athletic' look.
I like your car as is and would spend the mod money elsewhere
That's what it was with those cars, but not in the case of the mustang. It was a visual design trick, because the black blends in with shadows it makes the car seem smaller.

One has to ask - Are you fixing your car up to satisfy us, or yourself? Surely, you can "make the call" without anyone's help. There are other painted rocker options from Street Scene, Roush, Shelby, Saleen, and others. There are pictures of pretty much everything on google.
I would recommend going to car shows, but most of what you see there are typical cookie-cutter cars that all look the same. There are few cars in my area that are anywhere close to being as modified as mine is in terms of appearance. Sure some have custom hoods, but I know of exactly three other cars in town that have the Boy Racer kit on them.
At the last car show I went to, I had one of two V6 cars that showed up - and there were over 400 cars in the show, most of which were Mustangs.

Painting the side skirts would look good. I'd leave the roush splitters on though. I get what you're saying about the base models and plastic. The first thing that popped into my head though was the 03-04 cobra rear diffuser and the cs and gt500 front and rear splitters. It's come around as a look on the mustangs I think, but painted definitely still looks nice. I think you can't go wrong either way
Thanks for the replys guys, I do appreciate your input.
I have ordered a rear valance that Im gonna have painted. Plus get a cheap takeoff set of rockers that will be painted as well.
I will put those on and leave the front as is to see what I think of the rear/ side view. If it does not satisfy me in the looks dept I can easily change it back!
However if I do end up liking it I will complete the look as per the last Pic I posted (painting the sides of the CS front valance only)
Either way I will post the end results here! Im excited to see it come together!
P.S- thanks for the compliments on the car!!
