Time for a clear hood to show off that engine. Looks great! Best detailing I have seen.

I'm looking on automotivetouchup.com now. They have some good prices and products. What went into your preparations? Did you prime the parts first? I've used Meguires spray shine on all my plastic parts under the hood, I'm sure I'd have to really scrub them for the paint to stick, right?

I have to admit I did not want to like it at first, but the more I look at your photos, I gotta say - that is some awesome work! It grew on me - quickly! Looks fantastic, and like everything else grabber blue I am betting it looks much better in person than in the photos.

your local auto parts store should have a good plastic prep to clean it with, or the web site may even have it, then a primer and paint. I would get it all from the web site, very good automotive quality. also use the 3m green automotive masking tape and 600grit wet/dry sandpaper for sanding the primer. I also clear coated the whole thing when it was done. Good luck, put up pics when it's done.

It looks fantastic!! I just bought a grabber blue mustang and (take this as a complement) but I want to copy what you did. how does that pain hold up to engine temps?

is it easy pretty easy to do for a regular person or do you do painting for a job? Is there a lot of sanding...prep etc. Can you give a short summary of what you did..step by step? I saw the materials you used..but I don't know if sanded the plastic parts first. or just sanded the primer etc... any help would be great, I really plan on doing this for a weekend project SOON!
Thanks in advance!!! GREAT JOB!

That looks FANTASTIC; your engine is a show piece now for sure!! I can't wait to have mine done like that eventually.

I painted my radiator cover and fuse box cover with Ford Blue Paint from duplicolor, and now I'm ashamed of it when I see yours!
I like to redo it similar to yours.
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Amazing job.

I hope the OP comes back and gives some info.....

MoeJoe...the plenum cover...is that the final product or is that prepped and ready for paint? I'm really curious what steps are taken to sand, prep, paint..etc. I want to make sure it comes out good. I might have to just youtube how to do it... I got a good idea, but I want to make 100% SURE.

It was originally sprayed black. Then I re-sprayed it white. I did a horrible job. The paint it super rough to the touch. I need to re do it
