Electronics Package....USB Drive Format Question

What formats does the electronics package radio recognize? NTFS? FAT32?

From this link it looks like only FAT32.

From an IT standpoint, use FAT32. It "just works". FAT32 is pretty ubiquitous and well supported even when a device's underlying OS isn't Windows based.

Well that won't work with my 5 GB mp3 AC/DC medley. . .

Bah, only about 800MB is original music anyway. All their stuff starts to sound the same after a while.

Anyway, NTFS is not a good file system outside of NT / NT based OSs (XP, Vista and 7 are all NT based). There is a LOT of overhead with it, which is (partially) why you only get 460gb out of a 500gb hard drive. FAT32 is a much cleaner system and it is nearly universally supported (unless your an Amiga). Aside from its 4gb file size limit, it's pretty good.

I would recommend formatting everything that isn't a hard drive in FAT32.

Bonus Question (one I could find out for myself, but i'm too **** lazy to go out to the parking lot):

When the car is turned off, does the USB still supply power to the drive?

The light on my stick goes off with the accessory power once the door is opened and the key off.

Recording of a CD to the jukebox also stops when you power down.
