E brake handle question?
Ford must have changed something in the design, notice the boot cover seems too big so it bunches up. The promo pic it's smooth. I imagine they had ergonomic issues with it being flush so they raised it up to allow easier access by the hand.
Mine is same as OP.
First manual car so I've freaked out a few times thinking the e-brake was on. I frequently push in the button just to make sure it's down.. because I wasn't sure why Ford would make it NOT sit flush when down.

your avatar made me smile
Though it's been said- I think the primary reason is the ergonomic form. Try sitting in the seat as you normally do and then rotate your wrist down that extra 45 degrees... Not pleasing on a dayily basis.

So I pulled my car out of storage last night and I noticed something that never bothered me before (but does now)
My ebrake Handle doesnt sit flat/flush in its cutout of the center console when the brake is off.

My question is: Is your car like this?
If it is not, do you know if the stop for the handle is adjustable?
I havent taken the console apart yet (at work right now) so I figured I would pose the question to TMS.

This is Deysha from Ford Customer Service. I verified this info for you and the picture above from Stinger1982, is the correct position for the E-brake from 2010-2012.

I was just curious, so I posted on here to see if other members were the same as me (before bugging Ralph, he is a REALLY busy guy). As Ralph noted I go racing a lot, so that means the rear brakes are off and on 5-7 times per race weekend, so I wasnt sure if I had caused slack etc in the cable.
I need to send Ralf and email (I will do that now) I promised him he could drive my car once all the mods were done.....

ya ya.
its is commical you put this and yesterday I decided to change my entire exhaust system from the headers back today.
Going to the shop today to try something. Take off the Dynomax race bullet system and try no cats on stock midpipes (with resonators) and GT-500 mufflers
I love the sound of the GT-500 the best, but I want more volume (think **** off the neighbors volume, I actually did get a complaint at my new house already about exhaust)
