From another site: Ford Racing Has completed the install of first Supercharger delevopment kit.
For the 2011 5.0 GT Mustang, it features a Whipple blower with Gt500 TB.
Intake Manf.,CAK & intercooler system are from Roush PP.
All every OEM looking in Quility & Package clearances.
We are Targeting a 60 day after job 1 with the kits.
We installed the first S/C kit on a black car

Now complain about this.

Ok, well here's the 11 on a Mustang Dyno. A little different result:

Guess we'll just have to wait for more results.

It'd be pretty funny if 412 was the 'break in tune' and after 50 starts/1000miles that the bottle becomes uncorked.... (IIRC the GT500 first had this back in 07)

5 consecutive miles or 50 starts =)

Not a breakin tune either, it was a "the truck driver and lot attendants are a-holes" tune. It limited boost by means of not allowing WOT.

However, this guy doesn't know how to operate his dyno. Reasons why I believe this:

1. Incorrect gear selection for pull
2. Previous BS numbers such as 511RW on a 2010 GT500:

I hate to say it, but 412 is the official number. From the Ford Website -
"2011 FORD MUSTANG GT LEADS CLASS WITH 26 MPG HIGHWAY, 412 HORSEPOWER"

http://www.ford.com/about-ford/news-...ds-class-32210

Why would they waste all the resources to advertise 412, only to change it after launch?

Like you, i'm waiting for the REAL numbers... 0-60, 0-11-0, 1/4, etc...

Ahhh, that's what it was... I knew there was something like that.
Wasn't exactly sure on the distance/timing.

Well there IS possibly one way around that, but the numbers seem a bit high for just an octane change. From 87 to 91 or 93

If Ford states 412.... it COULD be on 87... and then technically they aren't lying.
The article did state something around 7 tries before they got a peak number like that.

One thing I AM curious about, is what were the first 6 runs....and what type of fuel was used in the days prior...and up to the dyno run.

You guys just keep debating.

I think it sounds great, and I know I will not be disapointed with the power. I just keep playing that vid over and over, just to hear the sound. Can't wait to be in the drivers seat.

I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, will the 2011 still have the sound tube?

It's got a sound tube in this picture:

Somebody needs to make a Kick-*** looking engine cover like that for the 4.6 GT!

Sound tube was a fantastic idea since cars these days are gettings so tight together that you wouldn't hear the great v8 engine.

If you watched the video that I posted where the Ford engineers intro'd the 5.0, they stated that the motor was rated at 400 HP on 87 and the full 412 on 91.

I think it sounds pretty good for stock. Axle-back exhaust will definitely still be one of the first mods I plan to do, however.

Here's the difference (provided the dyno results are accurate) - nobody cares what a V6 is really producing, Ford doesn't really have to worry about too many pissed off V6 owners storming corprate headquartes looking to make some heads roll. The GT and to a greater extent GT500 need to be making the claimed amount of HP or better.

Lets not forget the 99 Cobra and Mazda's woes with the RX8, its certainly within Ford's best interest to underate the engine.

I certianly can't remeber the last time somebody got pissed off and said; "I'm so gonna sue because my engine is making an extra 15 or 20hp ".

I was speaking hypothetically...we've read all the ratings before.
