Dyno machine question

I'm getting my car on the Dyno this sunday I've never had this done before. As far as the process goes, What should I expect? Is there something I should do to prepare? How will I know the tech is doing it correctly? I just wanna make sure it's done right. Thanks for your input.

Do you have an auto or manual? If it's an auto, the pull needs to happen in 4th gear.

You'll want to make the pull in 5th gear, but if the shop knows what they are doing, they should tell you that. They should have a fan hooked up blowing into front too.

It's a surprising amount of prep, then the actual dynoing is very quick.

Depending on how nerdy you want to get, you may want to discuss how the tech will be delivering the dyno data. Also if you're going to dyno again later after modding, you may want to ask him about availability of comparison days later including correction factors.

My tech does not let the customers drive the dyno, so more than likely they'll already know what gear to use. The "correct" answer, by the way, is the gear that gives you the final drive ratio closest to 1:1 available on your vehicle.

Which, BTW, is 5th with the manual gearbox. Should be a 1:1 ratio for '11-14.

Thanks for the info. How much time between pulls? I'm told there will be three.
