Talking Dyna-Tech Long Tube Headers

Found out a couple days ago that a Dyna-tech is wanting to use and abuse my car to design their new LT's for the 5.0. They are doing the baseline dyno testing next week. Very excited to see the stock numbers, and to hear the car after the LT's are on it. I also want to say how impressed I am with them. This is an excerpt from an email I recieved this morning.

""I wanted to touch base with you on a couple of things. 1st thing is the
gasket, is it going to be in today? If so I will make arrangements to get it
picked up from you today. Secondly is I have tried to get a hold of you
several times yesterday to discuss the dyno session I have scheduled for
next Wednesday at Wxxxy's. The question I have is what grade of fuel do you
run in the car? It would be best if it had premium fuel in it to optimize
the horsepower numbers before and after the header installation.""

They actually want to know how much power the LT's make and not some other random variable, ie the 87-93 octane debate. Of course I have only used 93 octane. I will update this thread as more info becomes available. Wish me luck and more power!

Will they be stainless steel or just mild steel?

Not certain on the stainless or mild steel, here is a pic of some GT500 headers they did for my neighbor. Dyna-tech is an offshoot of Afco Racing, they are a local company but sell their parts to racing teams across the US.

Dyna tech makes really good headers. They are equal to or better than ARH and Kooks from what I've heard.

I don't know the particulars yet, I just returned from Kentucky Lake and was unable to attend the dyno run, I do know for certain it had 93 octane 0% ethanol. I filled it up before they picked it up, I do not have a tuner so they may have had to do it in 4th to avoid the limiter, not certain?

3.73 car should not hit the speed limiter in 5th before the soft rpm limiter.

Could be lots of reasons for the low numbers including an unmolested Mustang Dyno.
