Driver's Power Seat Issue

The front of my 13 GT's power seat no longer moves. The fore/aft adjustment works, as does the rear up/down adjustment. However, the front of the seat no longer moves.

I can hear the motor spinning, so I know it and the switch are good. I would assume a gear has snapped.

Has anyone here successfully repaired of these? I hate to spend $300+ for the entire track assembly unless I have to.

Do ALL these power seats break? lol
I'm curious to see if they can be repaired too. I guess it's only a matter of time until mine breaks

My rear tilt motor has just done a similar thing (spins, but no movement). I've seen a listing for a repair kit part number (ER3Z-78617D66-A), but I don't know yet if it covers this specific failure mode.

I had both replaced on my drivers seat in my 12. Just stopped working. Been fine since, over two years now

Hopefully I can look into the failure this weekend. That part would be a lot cheaper than the whole track assembly.

All I've ever seen is that you have to replace the entire seat track assembly. $300 for the part and another $300 for the dealer to fix it on my car.

My drivers seat did the same thing, replaced the track under warranty . Now my passenger seat will raise up and down but has a hard time moving forward and backwards, out of warranty . I searched for single replacement motors but couldn't find any, so far . Good luck

Is it that hard to do yourself?

I've heard it's fairly simple but I couldn't figure it out...

Part number ER3Z-78617D66-A fixed my seat. It is a fairly straight-forward repair. The hard part was driving out pin connecting the drive assembly to the lifting lever. The kit includes new screws and even a tube of grease. I careful examination of the old part is needed to know how to assemble the drive assembly since there are no instructions. This was much better (less than $50) than a whole new track.

I'm on my 3rd s197 and have had no issues with the power seats.

Here's a thread from SpectreH with lots of detail, below. These are cheap units, and the gears inside are plastic, and break. BOTH my Driver's and Passenger's did the same thing (with minimal usage and very low miles). Very unfortunate.
