Don't over fill the gas tank
I was reading an interesting thread here about the V6 Mustang's fuel economy (trip to dallas). The poster memtioned he filled the tank until it clicked off 3 or 4 times. While I'm not 100% sure if it's the case of the new Mustangs, I know this is not good to do with a Ford truck. I also have a 2005 F150, and I did this all the time, trying to get as much fuel into the tank, or rounding off the fillup to an even dollar amount.
I ended up having to replace the charcol canister replaced, as it had fuel in it. It is intended to capture fuel fumes from the tank, but the tech that replaced it said over filling cause the gas to slosh into this canister. It was a couple hundred dollar mistake on my part. The check engine light indicated a code that stated the evap system was faulty. I thought it was the perverbial loose gas cap deal, but after resetting the code twice, it continued to set, and ended up being the canister.
I stop the fueling after the first click now.

I used to do this, then started paying with a card and forgot all about rounding things up. Sometimes the pump shuts off early on my jeep so I have an idea how much I need. Once I get to that # of gallons, the first shut-off gets it put back.

That's funny. Mine does that also but only at a certain gas station cause i always top off always have. Never had a problem. I own an F150 and F250. No problems with them either.
