In Texas (and most states I've been in) the left lane is for Passing.

Should try it in Ontario, ANY lane is OK for passing, left, right, center and ricers will weave as if they have a fire to go to.

I had one (Accura) the other day that pulled in behind me REAL close, so I slowed down and so did he. Then he proceeded to pull out and race ahead with his bean can making a lot of noise, then he slowed down and pulled beside me blipping the throttle. I laughed at him and shaked my head to which he made a non friendly guesture and went blasting off.

Several miles later I had to laugh again as he was parked on the shoulder having a discussion with the police

I do not condone street racing; my niece was killed by two of these types while driving to college.

I ignore it. What do others do? I hope the racing is kept to the tracks.
Nobody does that to me (or if they do, I don't notice it). I've had people almost wreck because they're staring at my car instead of paying attention to their driving, and a few Mustangs and Shelby's have revved me as we passed each other on surface streets, but no overt challenges.

I didn't even street race when I was young and stupid, and I certainly don't do it now.

I have glanced back in my mirrors lately while stuck in traffic and watch people take pictures of my car. Just this past Tuesday a Very pretty girl beside me I caught her taking pics.. Hell I have come out of my work building and saw random stranger in front of the cars taking pictures. Two weeks ago I got the sh*t scared out of my while reaching back in my car for my briefcase I hear a yell "HEY!!!!" I look up almost smacking my head on the door frame.. As I look its two girls in a SUV all smiles.. "NICE CAR" as they drove away. Have to say being in my 50ies its a good feeling to know the young woman love my car.. but a bad feeling its not me they think is hot.. LOL I guess my wife is happy it is that way.. LMAO... Also about the lanes in NY to much population to have the left just for passing like in other states even though I wish it would be that way.

When I had the '08 GT, I had lots of people pulling up next to me on the highway, but they were always other Mustangs honking at me and waving. There were ricers that would race by me but those kinds of people aren't worth interacting with on any level. The funny ones were the yuppies in their suits and ties pulling up next to me and revving their engines. Now that, I had to laugh at. I usually found people in a parking lot around my car, talking about it and taking pictures. Gotta admit, it was fun to drive off in those situations.

This thread is cracking me up. I also got more attention in the v6 sn95 I had.

Busy but not crouded mid day. I let them be.
Depends on the situation

Honestly I think the new 5.0 gets alot of respect. When I drove my 88 GT my 96 GT or my 99 GT I got PLENTY of ricers mostly challenge me. I don't get too many bothering me now. Other mustang drivers or even corvette guys just wave and drive off. That bad thing is these young ricer guys will go all out to try and beat you and risk thier own life and others out there. I say rev it let them hear a REAL car and let them drive off sounding like a lawm mower in heat.

I just drive mine like its the slowest ****er on the planet, and laugh and wave when they rev at me. Let them blast off and tell all their buddies that they smoked a GT500. And trust me, they do exactly that and look like ****ing morons to the people with any car knowledge at all.

lol I had a Fiat 500 Abarth try to race me the other day. I didn't know what would be worse, getting seen racing a Fiat 500....or losing to one.

I have a 3.7........

That Fiat looked like a little 2012 Laguna Seca with its black and red paint scheme. lol

I did 'race' a 2012 5.0 though, he was like less than 1/3 of a car's length ahead of me, but I seriously think he must have just been toying around cus he would have raped my car if he even touched the accelerator.

I have had my car for just over 3 weeks and no one has really tried me. I have had plenty of people give me the thumbs up or tell me "Nice Car", even taking pictures. I have teenage sons and they are both learning how to drive in my GT. They still haven't managed to get off the warehouse deserted road yet. I had a semi truck driver less than a 1/4 mile off the lot stop at the light gawking and giving my wife and I compliments. All the other Mustang guys give me waves and stuff. I'm in the military and there are lots of Mustangs on post because there are a lot of young, single GI's buying them. We all blink lights or wave. I swear, I feel like I'm a Harley Davison owner or something.

not sure if its just because I live in detroit or what, but i havent really had anyone mess with me on the road. only time was a gto on woodward late one night and he revved a bunch at me, so i waved and let him speed off like an idiot lol

maybe because everyone around here knows what the 5.0 is capable of, so they dont bother. with that being said, i dont really see a whole lot of ricers around that much either. <3 the motor city

I just shake my head or look at them like they're stupid. I've been tempted to buy a bag of white rice at the grocery store to hold up when they do their ricer fly-by.

I also should mention, and anyone who owns or has owned a Wrangler will agree, I never get more waves than when I'm in that. The Shelby will probably change that, but it was always a nice perk of being a jeep owner. I'm going to miss it (the Jeep) when I trade it for the GT500.

Had some fool last night in a GTI tailgating me so close I couldn't see his headlights. Gunned it in 5th and saw him turn into a singular light. Then traffic picked up a little and he started weaving like crazy, thought he would run someone off the road. Had an integra do it the same day but in heavy traffic and during the day.

Usually I get thumbsup from the other stangs or the ford gt's. The camaros not so much haha.
