thats pretty cool! So just hold down the 2 right side buttons (setup and reset i think) while you start the car. Then "reset" to cycle the options. It worked perfectly for me!

This has been around apparently since 1999.
There's this topic on it as well, along with some pics.

You can also monitor speed info from a scangauge as well as all this other stuff. You can have 4 points of data up at any one time. I've run these for years on my cars.

TPS: Throttle position sensor 0-100%
fIA: Intake Air Temps (Temperatures at the intake manifold)
fWT: Coolant water temperature
HPR: Horsepower (Looks to be pretty accurate from initial runs on several cars)
VLT: System Voltage
IGT: Ignition timing (advance)
LOD: % Power request
Closed/Open loop: Fuel management and transition point from O2 control to WOT
STF: Short term Fuel trims (Idle % on Block 32)
LTF: Long term Fuel trims (Partial throttle on Block 32)
OX1: #1 O2 sensor output, 0-100
OX2: #2 O2 sensor output, 0-100
MPH: Digital speed reading from Speed sensor
RPM: Digital RPM’s
MPG: Miles per gallon
GPH: Gallons per hour

Trip Data: Fuel economy, Fuel used, Distance, drive time, Avg. speed,
Distance/time/fuel to empty, ETC.

Scan Tool: Code reader and eraser, Readiness test, Turn off CEL’s

I usually monitor fuel trims and temps constantly

Did this before leaving for work today. It gave me a better idea of what the stock speedo is reading. Before I thought the speed I was going was just to the left of the needle. It is actually to the right side.

I think I did this years ago with my 02 GT. Very useful info.

Typical rule of thumb is that the physical speedo reads ~ 2mph higher than actual. This can be confirmed via a GPS unit as well.

This digital speedo trick, can I set it and forget it, or do I have to do it every time I fire up the car? If it's the latter, I'd rather buy an Aeroforce Interceptor gauge and save myself the trouble.

Since it's a diagnostic mode I assume it resets when you remove the key.

Mine reset when I stopped, pulled the key and restarted. I also noticed that once I cycled through everything to get to the speedo, it stayed there. Couldn't get it it to change until I stopped/started.

Wish the SCT programmer could take care of that option to stay on at all times.

I held the right 2 buttons (can't remember them off the top of my head)
and it went into a mode that showed ROM level and CRC #s
and something labelled FINAL YEAR.

DEFTINATELY not the right mode on my 05

Does this work on 05-09? just tried holding reset and turning the key to the on position (without starting) I got about 5 screens, rom version, serial#, final date, test display, crc ID, etc.. nothing about the engine or speedo.
