I use to look at the old v6 mustangs as "just a v6" but not anymore. I would have chosen a v6 over the 10 GT as well, especially as your daily driver. If you really want a V8 maybe in a few years when its paid off you can get the newest GT out and keep the v6 to DD around in.

Congrats on the 2011 ...
but ... 2010 GT gets Discounts + 0% Finance + more Torque + more available Mods. Plus if you ever decide you want to be faster than a 5.0 ... you're only a bolt-on Supercharger away ....

I wouldn't say you made a mistake if you're happy with the car.
I personally would get the V8 because it sounds incredible and like dmhines said you can slap on a supercharger and have over 500 flywheel horsepower easily.
As for handling they're going to be so close that in everyday driving you won't even notice and either can be modded easily to be better than the other

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there were some NVH-type improvements done between the '10 and '11.

Thanks for all of the responses. I know i got a great car with the 11 v6, but I guess I will just always be wondering how much better the 2010 gt will be. As great as the 11v6 is, its not a mustang gt.
If only it were as simple as swapping it out-- but I guess that is the problem with buyer's remorse-- to late to do anything about it.

A 2010 GT works just fine as a daily driver. From the "sound" of your last post, it seems like you are going through some buyer's remorse. Any idea what you are missing that would lead you to say "how much better the 2010 GT will be"?
Do you think the V8 sound is "better"?
Do you like the perceived prestige of a V8 as compared to a V6?
Is there something in the "seat-of-the-pants" feel you think you are missing?
Stylistically, you have a car with a dual exhaust system that you can update as you see fit. If you don't like that engine and are going to regret your decision, you might want to evaluate the potential of selling it fast before you get a lot of miles on it.
This happened to me many moons ago - I wished I had gotten the turbo version of the first generation of the Mitsubishi Eclipse after I got the non-turbo one. I was so hyped up on the new Eclipse that I was willing (at first) to accept a lesser-powered model, even though the style was very similar between the two. Also, the non-turbo was an automatic, which slowed it down even more.
After 7 weeks of ownership, I traded in on the Turbo. I lost A LOT of money on that trade. Financially, it was not a wise use of resources, but I evaluated the hit on my driving joy and decided it was worth it. Of course, I did not have a wife then with whom to make big decisions.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

If you really do become unhappy, try to wait it out. It's got good power for a V6, and it's a huge hit financially to trade in so soon. Wait until next year and you'll be looking at good deals on a 2011 Mustang GT. Or heck, just save up and get a 50th Anniversary Mustang. There are plenty of options, but don't feel too down. I had fun with my 2004 V6, and it only had 190 HP.

I was quoted about the same rate for V6 or V8, coupe or convertible (Liberty Mutual, FTW). So I chose the V8 convertible. Switching from my 2006 Accord V6 to a brand new 2011 Mustang V8 'Vert increased my car insurance premium by $128. That helped convince my wife....
But I haven't had a speeding conviction since 1990 either, which probably helps.

I also wonder how much more nimble the V6 feels in handling since it's carrying less weight over the front axle. One thing I wanted to do was test drive a 2011 V6 6MT before buying my 5.0, but unfortunately all the local dealers had a hard-0n for automatics in their V6s. I'd still like to test drive a Job #2 2011 V6 perfromance package car. Life isn't 100% drag racing....

The 0% is what sold me on my '10 GT....A brand new convertible @ 6.9% would be way too much payment for me! The gas mileage on your v6 is better than my daily driver camry though....enjoy it (now go harass some v6 camaros!)

Here are a few pictures (sorry about the quality, taken with my cell camera)
After reading a lot of replies in this thread, I am still having some regrets... the 2010gt seemed like a better deal. I do however really like the appearance of the MCA package... looks better than a stock GT imo. Hopefully I made the right decision... i need to stop thinking about it or it will drive me crazy

You bought your car at Galpin? They had the perfectly optioned 2010 Gold GT I was looking for (MT / Electronics Package / Comfort Groupt / 3.73:1 Gears) ... but getting it to Georgia wasn't gonna happen ... Think they still have it in stock ...

I think the MCA looks great, but I've been in your shoes and actually went through with going back to get what I wanted (it was a used Lightning). Never said I was very smart
