Does anyone have any insight into how to decode the DataMatrix code that is stamped into the driver’s side of the 3.7 liter engine block?

I've got an app that will translate the DataMatrix into an alpha-numeric string, however I can't find any references to decode this alpha-numeric string into more meaningful information.

I am sure that this code will reveal the engine MFG date and other important info. I just need to know how to do it.
