Decklid Panel - Can it be polished?

My decklid panel with the faux gas gap used to have a dealer decal on it. I was not able to clean where the decal was, all the adhesive was removed but I can still see where the decal was.

A while back i used a buffer with cutting compound and then polishing compound. I noticed when it is clean and in the correct light I can see the swirl marks from the buffer, how can I get it factory again?

This stuff really works. We purchased a used black expedition years ago and it was swirled awful bad. It drove me crazy. I used this product and they were completely gone. I will say the swirls returned after about 5 washes but then I used the product again and the swirls stayed away longer and longer in between washes the more I used it.

It's a little tough to use but it works.

Can't believe a dealer would desecrate the decklid panel - there's no point. Most put their spam under the spoiler.

Mine originally went to a dealer in Georgia, I found it at a dealer in North Carolina in Auto Trader and my local dealer got it for me and no dealer sticker from any of them on mine.
If the Meguiars doesn't work you might have to replace it.

ScratchX looks like it's made for paint. I would try one of the solutions from the taillight thread first since they look to be the same material as the decklid.

New oem panels are $300, I like the v6/boss panels but I cannot find any used undamaged ones.

Use a plastic polish. You could also carefully use a a mild polishing compound with a soft rag. Just don't be too aggressive.

Mine is peeling. I have 6 months left under warranty so I will have it replaced along with the third brake light. Then in three years, it'll look like crap again. Thanks Ford.

Any polish/finishing polish, a buffer, and MF rags will work. Treat the surface just like you would paint/clearcoat/headlight/plastic, etc.. Don't matter.
