Decided on SGM w/ glass roof!

Thanks for all input on my last thread about which car to go with...it helped me tremendously on my decision! I figured I would start a new thread on what I went with. I traded in my 2013 GT Premium (list of option for this car is in my sig) and decided if I'm going to have a mustang I am going all out (for what I can afford anyway).

2014 Ford Mustang GT Premium Sterling Gray Metallic

http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webvie...BP8CF3E5244641

This thing had a TON of options...everything I've ever wanted in a stang (except forced induction, of course ha!) 7300 miles, Ford Used Certified

All options are in the link with the window sticker but I will list them as well

-Equipment Group 401A
-Electronics Package w/Navigation
-Rear Sensing Security Package
-Comfort Package
-GT Track Pack (which I have a lot of questions on that I will mention in a bit)
-Glass Roof
-Accessory Package 4 (Pedestal Spoiler)

Now... to begin the modding process... I've already scheduled window tint for this coming Tuesday. I've taken my Borla Catback S-Type off my '13 GT and CAI w/Bama tune and install that hopefully this coming Sunday.

The next thing I would like to do is suspension mods...the big question here is with the GT Track Pack. What exactly does that come with?? Does it have ANY suspension upgrades that I don't have to worry about replacing. Honestly this thing feels like it handles better than my '13 did. I had all these suspension mods planned out before I decided to trade it in, but am wondering if I really need them with this new '14.
To be vague, I was planning on putting springs, struts, shocks, sway bars front and rear, LCA w/relocation brackets. Do I need all of that with the GT track pack installed?

Anyway, here are some pics...thanks again for all your input and advice! Sorry pics aren't the best...but at least you have a visual!

Congrats on your “new” Mustang! Your first mod should be: dealer advertising delete, if you haven't already done so.

Congrats and awesome ride! Don't get down about the price if people start saying "you got a bum deal." A lot of people on here post about what great deals they got, but it's dependent on where you live. In NJ there were no black manual GT/CS's within a 500 mile radius...even on cars.com. I had to special order mine. I paid 37k, after taxes and fees it was 41k out the door. Dealers in this state don't care if you play the "walk out the door" game. Someone else will buy the car tomorrow because there are so many people in this state and not a lot of specific Mustangs.

I got 25k for my trade and bought the car for $37,900. I put down $6000 (including some equity I had in the car) with a 2.99% interest rate. With these options, I honestly did not care so much of the price because it would be extremely hard in my opinion to get all of them in the same package!

I suggest you check out this thread which is the closest I've found to documenting the contents of the track pack:

https://themustangsource.com/showthr...955&styleid=28

The track pack suspension seems pretty soft to me, which I like because it's comfortable but not super floaty. But I'm comparing it to my stock S2000 which, if you ran over a quarter, you would be able to tell if it was heads or tails. I believe the spring rates on the track pack are the same as the Brembo pack, documented here:

http://brembo50.com/page-1130035

Why not just run it and see if you need anything?

I removed my dealer advertising license plate frame right on the lot and handed it to my salesman.

Thanks! I will be reading up a lot on this when I have time. It will be a few months anyway before I will be doing anything, so that will give me time to decide whether I should just lower it or go the whole nine yards with the other suspension mods.

Congrats! Looks awesome! That glass roof looks really slick

So I have been seeing people trading in their 13s for 14s a lot lately. Did they change much between last year and this year? I am in no way questioning your or anyone else's decision. I am just genuinely curious if there were some big jumps or if people just want to the latest one before the new body style comes out.

I just told the salesman I didn't want any dealer advertising and he had the shop remove everything for me before I drove it off the lot.

Congrats on the new ride. Awesome set of options. You have a couple of nice options that I did not get, otherwise our cars are very similar. Very Nice Car! Enjoy!

Here is some additional info on the Track Pack details from Dirty Hippo Racing. This site also has other information on Mustang mods and performance you might want to check out.

So far I have noticed the gauges are less cluttered. I kind of like the '14 gauge cluster better...not as "busy" looking. The steering wheel controls are less sloppy in a sense. I caught myself having to press the controls a few times to get it right on the '13, but the '14 did a nice job of cleaning that up. The clutch is different...am still getting used the the feel of it. There is a very annoying creak in my '14 that I just can't seem to find out where it is coming from. Other than that I honestly can't think of anything else at the moment. I only traded it in because I had 34,000 miles on a '13 and not nearly the same options.

My best guess is they are trading up on features..esp when 2015 model is going to have dealers trying to dump inventory. If it only set me back a few car payments, I would too.

Gratz on the new car! I hate when dealer's put their stickers on your car, especially a new one.

$7k off the original sticker for a car that was $45k new honestly is probably what the guy who bought it brand new paid (for comparison my car was $41.4k new and I special ordered it for $34.5k and got high KBB for my trade)…but at the end of the day all that matters is that you are happy with the car. Looks great!

I agree. I feel for folks who think they "got a good deal". Esp used. Ugh. But hey, like another poster said, everyone gets a different "deal", so... Each his own.
