I predict that we will see it around March of 2012 and it will look like a 2011.

I think we will see it in April of 2012. From what is being said, the GT will have a front similar to a 2012 GT500. I am hoping the 2013 GT500 will have flared rear fenders to allow some really wide rear tires.

Yeah, I still don't see how that makes any sense. Don't see it happening.

What a misleading title. Got me excited

I think we'll see it at the end of this year in the LA Auto Show. You guys saying March, April of 2012.. seriously? That's when the car would be hitting dealer lots, and order banks open way before that.

I think it'll be going on sale around that time, but we may see it at some event or other before then. I hope so, anyway!

That was my first thought when the spyshots of the red mule hit the 'net. However, the current car (actually, more the V6) took inspiration from the previous generation GT500, so anything is possible.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed when I finally opened the thread

I agree with your prediction on seeing it at an auto show later this year, too.

if the 2005-2009 body style is any precident, I think it's likely that we'll see some new colors or stripe packages... maybe some things that were optional will become standard, etc.

If anything is likely to be refreshed externally, I'd look to revisions to the pork chops and the controversial tail lights.

Just my guess.

Currrent mustangs are SELLING.
There is no reason for Ford to change anything major
while the current ones are selling like crazy.

I hear what you're saying but I don't think that's how it works. They will always be looking to stay AHEAD of stagnation and they will always be looking to INCREASE sales.

Leaving a model alone typically does not offer sales improvement from one year to the next...so minor changes and improvements will typically show up to keep things fresh and to give current owners a reason to consider trading up.

This is not new...and automakers used to change cars significantly every single year...classic example- the brilliant 1955 "Shoebox" Chevrolets sold in gargantuan numbers... regardless of the success, 1956 saw a hefty, thorough and gorgeous refresh... 1957 was supposed to be a whole new car but (mercifully), the new platform wasn't ready, so rather than carry over the 1956 cars, the 1957s got new jaw-dropping new sheetmetal. Then 1958... the new platform arrived.
