A blown 6.2 in the Shelby might be stretching things a bit, but I guess we can dream. An NA Mach with the 6.2 might be a bit more realistic...and fun.

The 5.0 sounds like it's gonna be a screamer. I have a feeling this motor is gonna impress a lot of people when it come out. How could they not put out a BOSS 302? It sounds like it's just begging for it. If not, I can see A LOT of people building their own.

I also hope the Shelby gets the aluminum 5.4. I think people in that market segment have shown that they will pay the extra price with the over-inflated prices Shelbys were going for.

The 5.4 is still not at its cealing,
and the 6.2 is too big/heavy.

It's a truck motor (heavy/thirsty), and they are right to keep it that way.

wow so who thinks in our 11 the 5.0 will beat their camaro

how much torque does the camaro have?

and yea the 6.2 should stay in the f series it has no need to be in any car

Well it ain't official until Ford has a press release or something. But I think you're pretty safe to assume this is true.

Any hope Ford will have a special edition 2010 with the 5.0? (I just don't want to wait another year )

i am consumed by this debate, i had a dream that it was the 3 valve for 2010 but ford bumped it to 385hp..lol..

here is to hoping it is at least a good jump anyway.

and i am not too excited to hear it could be an 11.1 compression ratio.......

hey boomer so is this a 4v or 3v motor and how much you predict it weight in the new mustang? never mind its a 4valve but how much will it weigh?

You know what I fear is gonna happen?

Do we know for sure that the 5.0 will be offered in the GT?

I have a feeling they will keep the 4.6L in the GT and then offer the 5.0L in a more expensive upgraded version (Boss/Mach1/etc)... If Ford can sell a 4.6L GT in 2010, I think they can sell that car in 2011-2014 as well.

I have a feeling we'll have to pay a decent premium for the 5.0L.. anyone care to show me why I'm wrong?

11.1 CR + FI= KABOOOM!!

I wonder how things are going to plays out with that type of CR, DI and boost.

But it should be hell of a NA engine once built,

While you wont be able to run big boost there is no reason you cant FI a high CR ratio.
