A blown 6.2 in the Shelby might be stretching things a bit, but I guess we can dream. An NA Mach with the 6.2 might be a bit more realistic...and fun.

The 5.0 sounds like it's gonna be a screamer. I have a feeling this motor is gonna impress a lot of people when it come out. How could they not put out a BOSS 302? It sounds like it's just begging for it. If not, I can see A LOT of people building their own.

I also hope the Shelby gets the aluminum 5.4. I think people in that market segment have shown that they will pay the extra price with the over-inflated prices Shelbys were going for.

The 5.4 is still not at its cealing,
and the 6.2 is too big/heavy.

It's a truck motor (heavy/thirsty), and they are right to keep it that way.

Well it ain't official until Ford has a press release or something. But I think you're pretty safe to assume this is true.

Any hope Ford will have a special edition 2010 with the 5.0? (I just don't want to wait another year )

i am consumed by this debate, i had a dream that it was the 3 valve for 2010 but ford bumped it to 385hp..lol..

here is to hoping it is at least a good jump anyway.

and i am not too excited to hear it could be an 11.1 compression ratio.......

Heh, MadMax305 in that link made me laugh, sounds like nothing less than a Veyron would satisfy him.

I'm lovin' the news. But does this mean 2 years before it appears? A little late to the dance IMO.

You know what I fear is gonna happen?

Do we know for sure that the 5.0 will be offered in the GT?

I have a feeling they will keep the 4.6L in the GT and then offer the 5.0L in a more expensive upgraded version (Boss/Mach1/etc)... If Ford can sell a 4.6L GT in 2010, I think they can sell that car in 2011-2014 as well.

I have a feeling we'll have to pay a decent premium for the 5.0L.. anyone care to show me why I'm wrong?

11.1 CR + FI= KABOOOM!!

I wonder how things are going to plays out with that type of CR, DI and boost.

But it should be hell of a NA engine once built,

While you wont be able to run big boost there is no reason you cant FI a high CR ratio.
