coolant burping
coolant burping
Has anyone ever done this or had to replace/top off the engine coolant? I believe im going to have to drain some for my SC install to move the degas bottle out of the way.
The manual recommends the vacuum fill method, which i still have to check for to see if i can rent at autozone, if i can then ill probably do that but if people have got by with just burping the system or alteast filling it and letting it run for awhile and topping it off i will just go that route.
Any inputs?

basically as the title would suggest, you create a vacuum in the loop. Do this with a special setup and an air compressor. Then when the vacuum is made you drop a line into the coolant and that gets sucked into the system in theory not creating any air pockets.
had a air pocket in my sons ranger- I put a stopper in the radiator cap(sealing just the top diameter- leaving burp tank hose open to radiator, to allow circ to tank without pressure) then put a stopper/fitting in the tank, pumped it with the mity-vac hand pump till the reservoir/hoses started to collapse, sucked out a ton of air... upon releasing the vacuum, it sucked the reservoir tank almost dry as it refilled the system
