coming back to Mustang - SoLD my Bimmer

SO... it's been 20 years since my first Mustang 5.0 when I got back from Desert Storm. It's been 20 years?????? Anyway, ever since they announced that they brought back the 5.0 I have been literally losing sleep over it. Unfortunately, I was stuck in a lease on my BMW, but now that's over!!! Now that I'm a little older, I'm going to build this one right. To be honest, I was going to get an M3. Then I started reading the reviews, and the comparisons... too many to list. Bottom line, it was going to be an M3, a Shelby or a 5.0.

I priced out the 5.0 with the options I want (I'm a bit spoiled) and it came to 43K. Then I add my USAA or X-Plan discount, and I can get it for 38K OTD. Add 3K for longtubes, catted x-pipe, Magnaflow Exhaust, SCT Tune, and the Steeda CAI.

I have a great relationship with my Ford dealership because my CA sold me 3 vehicles in the past so their shop will install everything before delivery.

Haven't placed the order yet, but soon will. Been lurking on this forum learning all sorts of stuff and will continue to do so, but I've got to say, I am literally losing sleep over the fact that soon I'll have another 5.0. I had so much fun in my old 91 Fox body, I can't imagine what this beast will feel like.

I need to figure out something to help me sleep. ;-)

Congrats man on your future purchase and welcome back to the mustang family.

You say its hard to sleep now, just WAIT till your car is pending being built, deliverd etc.
Not to mention when the car finally arrives. LONG couple months ahead of you.

It's well worth the wait, no doubt.

I just rode in a 6 series BMW...............was not impressed. It was fast, but no big deal in any other area.

Then I got my Mustang. Much better in every way. Especially the Wow factor.

Sorry Giants for life.....but Barry Bonds sucks a big *******, just like all the other juicers.

Never a big barry fan... He was a cancer to our team.

Now that he's gone we've been a much better team. One of the best starting rotations in the MLB (2nd in starters ERA in MLB)

The giants are a very promising team with a ton of bright future stars in the making.

I turned in my 328i last March. I was looking at ordering a 335. But that car was hitting 48k, ouch. The M3 is a super car, but at 65-70k, its out of sight in price. I did like my 328, quick, and handled nice. After having my GT for a month now, im not missing the 328 anymore. Ronn

Tell me about it karman.

But apparently people rather talk crap about grammar lessons and people's "fonts" then talk about cars.

Madman - First of all, THANK YOU for your service to your our country.

Secondly, welcome to our humble forum!

Thirdly, you need to get on board the 5.0 Train soon! If you knew what you were missing, you'd REALLY not be able to sleep! If you are coming form a BMW, then definitely get the coupe + Brembos and either the 3.55 (my choice) or 3.73 rear. You won't be sorry.

As for the Nav & other options, go to a Ford dealer and check them all out carefully on the 'Stangs on their lot, to be sure you really want them. Look at the 2010s if you have to. I won't go into detail about what options I decided to forego & why, b/c others on this forum will have differing opinions and will want to square off. But I shaved about $3K off my chosen car b/c of deleting options I decided to do without. Just be sure YOU are willing to pay your hard-earned money for each of those pricey options you have picked out.

I say deck it out... I cross shopped the 135, 335, Mazdaspeeds, Nissan 370, and a few others. My first American car, after 2 weeks, is still impressing. Waaay cheaper than the bmw to maintain, although I haven't got rid of it yet because I'm trying to get my Mustang to eventually handle a little bit more like it... and I need the baseline.

Good luck with your choices.
