Coin Holder Recommendations?

Looking for an easily removable coin holder that will fit right in the front cup holder. I really just want it to be an open jar, that allows the stock lid to still close, and that fits nice and snug so it doesn't wobble around or vibrate.

Anyone have any ideas? Most I've found have individual slots for each coin, I can't be bothered with that. Just want something I can dump loose change into, that I can easily remove and dump out.

My 2000 came with a "smokers package." Seeing as I dont smoke the ash tray made a great coin holder. No wobble. Look on eBay.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I see basic plastic ash trays for the cup holder at Wal Mart for cheap.

I use a little plastic cup with hinged lid that Mentos chewing gum came in. Maybe this would fit the bill for you?

Perfect idea. I just use a ziploc bag in the console for my change - not ideal, I know.

Ugh, the Ford one is like $40...good lord that's a lot of money for some molded plastic. Maybe I'll head to the parts store and see what they have like that. I just want it to fit well and not vibrate a bunch.

I use mostly cash these days, so always a bunch of change on me.

Baby food jar? My dad used to glue the lids of these under his workbench and then put screws and stuff in them and screw them under the edge of the bench. Handy! Should fit well in holder; I might try this myself when mine comes in finally! There may be some other glass dip jar or something that is a little bigger that would fit better though.

Why not just put the coins directly in the cupholder? That's what I do with quarters, works a treat. Doesn't vibrate or rattle either, and I can still stick drinks in there.

Because it's a PITA to get it all out.

This

I used to use a plastic ash tray from oʻreileys but it kinda puts the wrong image to some. I just use an empty coffee thermos now that i plastidipped so ot not metal on metal. The vibrations are non existent and it fits noce and snug. Also fits a LOT of change in it

I use this cost about 3 dollars available at any wal-mart both parts fit separately in front cupholder but not together I keep the bottom cup part in and throw quarters in it for car wash and fill the other one up and put it in the center console.

Coins stay in my pocket until I get home. Then they get dumped into a large glass jar in the bedroom closet.

My son used to raid this jar when he needed money. Now that he's gone, the wife and I will roll this loose change at the end of the year, and use it for the slots when we take our yearly cruise. It adds up.

I don't like leaving anything "loose" in the Mustang; makes me think there's too much clutter. A pair of sunglasses and a cell phone charger is all I have in the glove box (does anyone store "gloves" in there anymore?!?)

I use an old ashtray that came with one of my dodge trucks, with a flip lid...it's never been used seeing I quit those things, fits perfectly in the cup holder and use it for change when I park by a meter.....lid always closed, I don't want to offer any incentive for any low life to break in for $5.00 worth of change!!!!!

This is your best recommendation...no need to fiddle around with container fitment sizes or figure out where to attach/install the coin container, etc...

Better to have the coins with you wherever you go!!!

DO IT!!!

There's a basic coin holder in the center console next to the USB port

I use my Pocket, I don't go through drivethrus and we don't have toll roads.
I do have a small Tupperware style container with a lid to keep in the glove compartment for when I go to Florida and their Toll Roads.

This is the one I just bought off of amazon.com for $17. The description said it was used in very good condition but I think it was new because it came in the original box with instructions and it looked brand new.

It fits in the back cup holder perfectly and the cup holder lid will close with the ash tray in it. It will sit in the front cup holder but doesn't allow for the cup holder lid to close.
