Actually the reverse is true. The Ram apes the Charger sedan's forward leaning grille, which was lifted/inspired/copied off the current Mustang and GT500. The 2010 GT500 simply is evolving its own DNA. ( from 2007-09 and classic 1967-68 models )

I would say the Ram looks like the GT500, as opposed to the GT500 looks like the Ram.

Well, I had no idea what the design history was. I just stumbled across a pic of the new Ram and noticed how similar they looked. I don't really think the fascia of the current GT500 looks all that similar to the Ram.

Yes err, for the '10 model that is.

I'm with gnat-sum. I don't see the connection. The 10 GT500 has a larger nose that sticks out from the lamps, whereas the Ram looks flat and two dimensional between the headlamps and grille. If anything, the Dodge is trying to apply the Mustang-trademark forward leaning front end to its Charger sedan and then its trucks- which seems very odd considering this is not a historical look for Dodge ( but it is for Ford. ) Maybe its the same as Chrysler copying the old Cobra for its original Viper.

IMHO, saying the GT500 looks like the Ram, means the current Mustang GT front end looks like the old Aston Volante:

Ford did the design first, just look at the clay model before the 2005 even came out.

That's the best photochop of the 2010 i've seen yet. I think the C-scoop is going to look remarkably like the '67

Mustang has been called the "Poor man's Aston" in certain circles if I recall...

Heh, which IIRC was slammed for being too Mustang like in appearence when it rolled out.

In any event I hope the car will look much better sans camo and in person. Right now though I'm not overly excited about the new GT500 fascia.

Actually, I had noticed that. It's what made me consider the Ram for my next truck!

If so, didn't work.

Just picking nits, though. Overall an excellent effort...

Awesome chop I have a feeling your spot on. Too bad I like the 07-09 car more from what i see though. I'm not liking the new hood it looks like one big vent instead of the two he had for the 07-09 GT500. I also agree that it looks too Charger like it's not bad but I love the current front end. I just hope we find out some performance and price specs soon. I'm am itching to buy a GT500 soon but don't know what year I want.

I didn't change the black hood highlights. But the red area should of had the same highlights (changed it below).
I wonder if the GT500 will have a unique side scoop? (Not on test vehicle?)

grrr428 - That's great work.

Anything you can do with this spyshot? I think this one highlights the hips better than any other spyshot to date.

It'll take me some time.....I'll see what I can do later tomorrow. The "hips" do look better.
Till then, I did this one..........

You are so wrong... the Ram was out long before the Charger, therefore it cannot rip off what it introduced.

And yes, the GT500 front end looks ALOT like a Ram.
