Cloth Top?
Cloth Top?
Hey guys, this question is for the vert owners,
Is the cloth top worth the extra $300? what are the advantages over the normal one from factory?
Thanks!

It is if you want just about every debri flying on roads sticking to it. It looks a lot nicer in the showroom though.
Just keep it parked away from them nasty bird droppings.

I think the cloth looks a lot better. I believe it will last longer too. I had cloth on another car and still did well after 20 years. I would be concerned that the vinyl will crack from constant folding long before the cloth does.
Although mine is not a DD, the cloth top looks so much nicer than vinyl and is really not that hard to maintain.
Piece of cake
Just go to the car wash periodically. I've have a cloth top on my 2001 BMW 330ci. Once in a while I vacumm it with a beater bar attachment from my vaccum. Heck you can even clean it with a carpet cleaner attachment. Still looks new after 9 years.
the stangs going to be a summer only car, so im not to worried about keeping it look nice, I just wanted to make sure the 300 bucks was worth it, and it seems as though it defiantly is! haha
Just remember one thing with any convertible top: only get a black top. Having had 3 convertibles in the past--two of which were tan tops--I have learned that no matter how hard you try, you just can't keep a tan top clean and looking good. No matter what the interior color is, make sure the top is black.
