I'm in Jacksonville and the place I'm looking at is called cool customz. I just found out that my girl is friends with the owner so I feel comfortable with the choice so far. A lot of good reviews as well. Can anyone comment on the prep work that is needed to make the install go smoothly? Is it just a wax removal solvent?

^ I don't think it's wax. If anything, I thought it was alcohol solution to remove any pre-wax/oils on surface, to allow air tight clear bra film bonding.

You mean he waxed the Clearbra itself or the paint surface which it adhered to?

After reading this thread I decided to start research a place to hook up my Stang I just picked up before it receives any rock chips on it! The only problem is the one place that everyone is recommending here in OKC is wanting to charge me $700 to do the front bumper, 1/4 hood and headlights. I think that is a bit much and might look into places in Dallas or Tulsa that do it. What do you guys think?

$800 with the best window tint thrown in would be in the ballpark. You have the right idea by getting it done right away. Mine went from the dealer to the installer the next day. A good installer might be worth a few extra $$$$$.

That's rather cheap for the coverage. What film is he using? 3M, Xpel Ulitmate?

That's a great deal then. Assuming the install is at least decent.

Most people don't realize that the normal bumper kit from Xpel only covers the front. To cover the top part of the bumper it requires a very wide roll and adds a lot to the price vs a normal car bumper.
