Check in: High mileage 2011-2014 GT? What has broken/failed so far?

How many miles are on your GT? Which transmission? What mods? What conditions do you drive in? What has broken or failed?

My 2011 GT 6spd/Brembo car was a very early build (June 2010) and after 22,000 miles, no problems to report aside from some tiny corrosion bubbles in the paint on the underisde of the hood, which haven't notably progressed in over a year. The car sees only nice weather (it has been rained on a few times...but no snow/salt), and I "enjoy" the motor every time I drive it with countless 7,000RPM shifts...but I haven't taken it to the track yet. Basically all stock.

EDIT: It should be noted that the stock Pirelli tires were initially pretty darned good but they were pretty much done at 15,000 with noticably reduced traction in all conditions...I have been procrastinating on replacing them since they still had legal tread depth.

12 Boss 45k miles, manual, Mods: full rear suspension including Koni Yellows and P springs, front Koni's and P springs with GC street CC plates, Hawk HP+ pads, StopTech STR600 brake fluid, BF bracket, 285/35/19's all around. I drive it in everything and currently the only thing broke is the driver's side speaker and possibly the windows (due to the ******* design causing the windows to freeze to the sill liner).

I am by no means high mileage but:

Bent rear passenger axle (convinced it was delivered to me like this but I finally sorted out the vibration and got it fixed). Figure this was an anomaly tho

At 7k miles had a rear drivers side axle seal fail and spew fluid all over my wheel and brake. Thinking this was linked with the bent axle that was creating massive heat in the rear brakes.

Otherwise basically flawless. I run the car hard and have had zero engine or transmission issues this far.

Currently at 10,300 miles. About 15% of those are on the track

I only have 5500 miles on my 2011 but a lot of that is at the track. Knock on wood nothing has broken.

Just crossed 8k, 2014 GT track pack

Runs great, the only thing I can imagine is the shifter that tends to nibble gears when not warmed up. Looking at either the mgw or blowfish to help solve, not sure with which to go. Other than that, has been pretty great and get right at the posted 19 mpg average over most all driving conditions including hoonage... only mod is the 2011 gt500 axleback, which has been great.

Seems to be a workhorse, it's my daily and I drive it in the little cold weather conditions we get here in myrtle beach. Also looking at a staggered wheel tire combo for next spring, and the pirellis will be gone thank goodness

^^ I would consider this a mod. Why does it need to move?

I'm not even remotely qualified to participate in this thread as I have only 4000 kms, but the only "issue" which may not even be one is a rear end whine specifically at 100 kph. Gone at 98 or 102, so I'm thinking it's resonance.

Manual seats for me. Fewer parts and less weight

I do have a bit of the "nibbling" going between 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. But not bad

17k miles on mine. I have a 2 hour commute each day all year round. I drive a mix of heavy traffic and cruising. The only issue so far is that sometimes the passenger seatbelt mechanism rattles around inside the plastic panel. It only happens sometimes though. Anyway, this is the best car I've ever owned.

I don't have a GT but i had the stock Pirelli (235/50-18) all season tires. I was a Pirelli 'fan boy' until i hit 15,000 miles. At 15,000 miles they became dangerous in all weather conditions. For safety reasons, i replaced them at 19,000 miles

****. 14 GT T/P picked up April 2013 - 35k miles. My Sync doesn't always turn on. This started happening after I pulled the Sync fuse to reset the index because my iPod was stuck in indexing hell. I've checked and the fuse is in securely, so I don't know what is going on.

Other than that, the car has been great. I drive the car in 100 degree summer days and 20 degree snow. It's my only car.

'14 GT auto w/30k miles. CAI/tune and gt500 mufflers w/resonator delete. Drive this bad boy year round and have had no mechanical issues.

I do have quite a bit of rattling interior bits, including my door, which rattles pretty horribly over large bumps/pot holes. :/

2013 GT with brembo brake package gt500 mufflers and resonator delete . I have 14k miles.

Ton of issues with the mustang. Stuff that broke/failed : Crank position sensor, radio screen delamination, water sloshing in quarter panel, bad front lca, differential vent tube leak, hood repainted twice (bubbling paint), trunk lid rubbing paint off bumper, clutch stay out, pinion seal leak?, and advance track goes off by itself. That's all the stuff I can remember now! Pretty sure mines a lemon.

Hi lsxjunkie,

I suggest performing a master reset to the SYNC system. This should help clear things up! You'll find the instructions listed here:
http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...ter-reset-sync

Once you're done resetting, follow these steps to re-pair any devices that were previously connected: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...our-phone-sync

2012 GT just passed 36k miles, mods in sig. I'm on my fourth set of front lower control arms and had one coil pack go bad at 34k miles.

2013 GT Track Package, GT500 mufflers, Track Cal.
About 26K miles of year-round daily driving in PA.

-4,400mi Random misfire, dealer replaced CPS sensor and trigger wheel
-13,500 Pinion seal leak, dealer replaced pinion and spacer
-17,359 Radio screen delamination, dealer replaced screen
-22,783 EVAP codes and "Check Fuel Fill Inlet", dealer repaired wiring near fuel tank

Other minor issues:
-"Nibbling" of gears when transmission is cold
-Rear axle whine at certain highway speeds
-Driver's door requires two pulls to open
-Battery insulator has disintegrated

I look past all this because of how fun this car is to drive. If I had this many problems with a normal commuter car I'd be furious.

Wow I wonder what happened with those? I've got 13K on mine and they are doing fine. A friend of mine is about to replace hers but she's at 30K miles; it's a 2012 model. I assume you were rotating them them every 5K and all the normal tire care. Were you doing a lot of track racing or anything like that?

With "skinny" 235 tires on a powerful, RWD car, it would be really easy to burn through tires in 19k miles with street driving. Not surprised at all.
