Check engine light???

Man, just what I needed.

I turn my car on from work and while on road I noticed a yellow, solid check engine light. No idea why the hell this would appear. I have maybe 6600 miles, all stock besides the GT500 mufflers.

Anyway, this morning to work I did a quick vehicle history report. Everything was fine nothing wrong with the car. Just did it for the hell of it. 8 hour later, this happens. Car mad? I think so.

It's been raining here a lot but the car was in a garage. Only when I took it out did I notice it. Any idea what the hell is going on? I called my service adviser and he said "haha it might dislike you since you let it out in the rain" Really? He said it might clear up overnight and I don't need to bring it in. If it stays solid, to swing by. I don't get it?

Stop by Autozone or Kragen, don't they pull vehicle codes for free?

Yeah, no point going off the deep end until you know what code it is throwing.

As said, get a parts store to read it or find someone with a code reader or a SCT tuner to read the code.

I'll just take it in tomorrow morning. It is still showing the light. Fack.

I hope it has nothing to do with the GT500 mufflers, when I let it sit for a minute or so it seems like it's having a hard time getting fumes out, it sort of skips a rumble.

Shouldn't be. They're stock ford parts.

I don't see why this would have anything to do with the mufflers. Gotta be something else. Keep us posted.

Autozone and advance auto does free scans. Do another health scan. My understanding is it will tell you what's wrong

So it was a bad oxygen sensor. They don't stock it, have to wait until tomorrow.

At least it's nothing major. How can the sensor go bad with only 6k miles?

It happens. A friend with a very low mileage sn-95 recently had a fuel pump go bad. Ford dealership put in a new one, and it failed within a couple hundred miles.

When companies are manufacturing millions of these things per year there are bound to be some that slip through quality control

Yep. The low tire pressure light came on on my '08 before I even got home with it. Turned out to be a bad TPMS sensor.

I'm just glad it's nothing major. Hoping the dealership won't put too many scratches on my car.

Would you believe I called Oxygen Sensor before you even got the code pulled? Those cheap sensors going out isn't uncommon. Fortunately it's a pretty cheap replacement too as I recall.
