Changed Battery now my GT will not Start!

Sorry if this answer has already been answered but I searched and didn't see anything about this. I have a 2014 Mustang GT that I changed the battery in. I had no issues with this car prior to changing batteries. Everything works and I've checked all the fuses all is good. When I get in the car and turn the key over nothing. When I try to the remote start it goes through the cycle and nothing other than 2 short horn beeps.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Did you clean the terminals good on the Battery and the car and are they tight.
Make sure you didn't bend the plunger down for the hood ajar when you had the hood open.

Yeah I made sure terminals were clean and tight double checked those...checked the hood ajar and all is well there too....note I did hook up 2 different types of car diagnostic computers and no codes are kicking out

Just a guess here... very odd that a battery swap would do this, but...

Is your anti theft SecuriLock light blinking when you put the key in and try to start it? It should normally just blink every couple of seconds when armed. Sticking the key in and turning it on (not start) the light will be solid on for three seconds then turn off... or start blinking rapidly. If it does the blinking rapidly, it's detected a problem with the PATS key and has disabled the car, so... yeah.

It could be the PATS sensor in the column, but if this is a keyless car, then it's in the console. Either way, the situation is that the PATS/SecuriLock is unhappy, sounds like, and you might need a dealership/mechanic with means to fix it. You can try to throw a PATS sensor at the thing, but I'm not sure that's the proper call m'self. Proper scan tool would tell ya more.

Welcome to the forums. Hope that helps, and good luck to ya!

what does it do when you turn the key? does the starter crank? does it click or anything?

when you use the remote, does the starter turn and can you hear the engine cranking?

It never turned over Bert if it is like my truck, the 2 honks are a no start due to something else wrong.
Since it is an automatic, is the P orange or white on the gear selector?

Yup, my Dad did that. He took off the red cap but thought the black was just the terminal color. He could not figure out why his new battery was not working at all. Had me come over to take a look. It took me a bit to figure out what was going on. So it does happen...

But sounds like you are getting power, just not cranking?

I would have done the same thing. If I haven't seen a youtube video many years ago with someone doing it . The black plastic terminal looks so perfect and the color black means ground. It would be something done by a lot of people

I known this might seem obvious but did you check the battery to make sure it was good to begin with it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a brand new battery be dead.
