Cement Parking Stop, you win this time

1 day after talking to someone about how i loved the stance of the new mustangs compared to the olds ones, it came back to bite me. I caught the lower valance (painted part) on a parking stop. It was quite noticeable even from the front angle so I immediately had it repaired the next day, god i swear idk how some of you guys drive with it lowered at all.

Oh well shes good as new

You learn very quickly to park short! Glad to hear it was repairable.

Where I used to work this would happen occasionally in our parking lots. We would generally pay for the car's repair if the person complained to us.

I recall one little BMW 3-series, barely pulled the plastic bumper part out, total estimate ended up being in excess of $700. WOW.

I had to touch up the lower valance on my '88 that I kept a can of paint in the hatch.

I just guesstimate the distance and "park short" like jlmounce said

Sometimes I'll be a bit off and leave a gap of 6-12 inches or so. For some reason, it's really hard for me to see over the power dome and I can never gauge the distance correctly, so I just play it safe

Maybe that's why Ford added the reverse sensors for 2012.

This. Pulling into a space, I am accurate to about 18" as far as depth. Backing into a space, between the sensors and the cam, I am accurate to about 2". I can literally see 9x better out the rear than I can out the front. Kinda sad.

Since I have always backed in with other vehicles because of a low front end clearance why change and start pulling in with the Mustang.

I lowered my 95 w/Pro-Kits. Then bought a 96-98 Cobra fr bumper w/added lip. It made it very low to the ground! I couldn't go over anything!! When I had to drive over dips, I had to take @ an insane angle. Just learned how to drive this way. Still drive this way in my 11. I won't lower it. Just used to not really needing to, kinda like it.

Might be a good idea to install the reverse sensors on the front!

Seriously?

After parking everything from a Superduty Crew cab to a Expedition EL any Mustang is by far the easiest thing I will ever park whether I'm backing it in or not.

Me too. I don't know why, but I find it hard to judge exactly where the front of this car is in relation to parking stripes and concrete bumper. I'm thinking of lowering my car an inch next year so I always try to stay back from the concrete bumper, just to condition myself.

Sorry about your car. I have a 12 5.0 I just bumped slighty trying to park. I can take a pic of that if anyone want to see it.
