CB Radio Installation

Hey Folks,
Just wondering if anyone has installed a CB in their Mustang. I have a 2012 GT Premium and am an old CB'er, but the limited space inside and the idea of scratching paint with an antenna make me think "forget it!" Still, thought I'd ask and see what others have done! Thanks!

although they're not as powerful, can't you get a through-glass mount antenna?

Get a remote mounted unit with the controls in the mic. Then you can look into one of the mounts that come out of the trunk lid gap and folds into the trunk. Of course, these ideas are from the 70's so not sure the items are still available.

Strange to see someone wanting to install a CB in a Mustang....on the F150 site i frequent, there are many posts on this subject. The glass type mounts stink in the way of signal strength, so I'd suggest you avoid that setup. The magnetic mount ones are best for portable, yet good strength antenna's.

This is my suggestion also, of course I haven't had a CB in about 10 years, since I quit driving 18 wheelers. Cobra used to make one of those remote CB's, maybe they still do.

The Cobra 75WX ST has most of the components in the mic, with just a small remote box that is easy to stash. I've had several of them in my Jeeps for trail rides, and they work great. They also have a NOAA weather radio mode.

Diamond antenna make a lot of fold over antenna mounts for 2 meter / 70 CM applications for ham radio. You might try them or a company called Comet. Also, a flat mount made coming out from under the bumper might work with a color matched whip with a quick disco. The idea of a magnetic mount will scratch the clear over time. Not the best option.
Good luck & 73's
Phil

Mine is still sitting in the Garage, has not been mounted in anything permanent since my 93 T-Bird.
