In recent years, I've seen him being interviewed and speaking on TV at the Barrett-Jackson car auctions. I always liked listening to him and his stories about racing and building cars. His passion for cars and performance was probably a factor in him living as long as he did. He will be missed by milions of fans.

This was really sad news. The man has been on borrowed time for a while. Health conditions for much of his life. Still sad to see. I may not have agreed with how things were being handled by his company at times but that doesn't make the man any less a legend.
On a side note does anyone think it's interesting that Shelby said that the 2013 GT500 was everything he wanted in a Mustang? Glad to see he was able to enjoy the his best Mustang to date!

Love him or hate him, you have to give him his due. What a great example of a self-made American. Truly a one of a kind. RIP.
Wonder what this means for Shelby now? Hope they let a speed freak with some vision step into the top spot there. Just wonder if there was room enough for that kind of person to develop at Shelby American in the shadow of Carroll.

Prayers to his family. I was unaware until they did a story Saturday that his first bit of racing back in 1959 was done with nitroglyserin tablits under his tongue! What a guy!
