Cancelled my original 5.0
I've been waiting for my car to arrive since the beginning of May. I work at Ford, so I was able to track the location of my car daily.
I talked to my dealer the other day, and he said that all the cars are released. Although, since the canadian market is not Fords first priority, the dealer car I bought would not be shipped for another 14 - 21 days!
So I said F*%k it! I cancelled the order. I DO NOT want a car that has been sitting outside for over 2 months. Sorry, that's just the way I feel!
I am going back on saturday to order myself another GT. Maybe that way, there won't be any holds, and after the car is built, hopefully, they'll be able to ship it without holding it for over 2 months!

I completely understand, my car was ordered Feb2, built April 14 and still I have nothing. But, to put things in perspective, we should consider ourselves fortunate to wait something we love, than to endure something we hate due to financial woes.

Financial woes are not the issue! I'm paying cash for the car! I'd rather wait a little bit longer for something that I chose, rather than buying a car that someone else picked. That's why I'm ordering a new one. Exactly built how I want, and I know that it won't be sitting outside for over 2 months just sitting in a holding lot, transferred from this ramp to another ramp, and then another, and then another etc., being shipped offsite and then back!
I think I'll just wait until they get it right!
As a employee of FMC, it is EXTREMELY disappointing to see how they've handled the release of the five point ohhhhhhhhhhh!
I thought that I could't wait to get it............... I guess I can!

August 16, 2010 will be the Job 2 Cars I believe. A whole bunch of changed components according to the parts book. I think I would try to get one built after that date. Make sure you go through Retail Order Verification if you order. Should get you a VIN sooner.

Apparently Retail Order Verification ended on May 31st. It may start up again, but it's not running at the moment.

Until it gets home and it sits in a garage, then in traffic, then sits in a parking lot at work, and then in the garage at home again, then at a garage in the shopping mall, and then outside in the elements at a movie theatre, and then in a traffic jam in commoner air, and then....

Not the point, we should all be grateful that not having a Mustang in our driveway is our biggest issue in life currently.

What I was trying to get across is the car is not being driven! After the last time it was sent back from offsite, it has just been sitting there, UNMOVED! That was my point! If I'm going to be spending this kind of money on a car, after it's built, I want one that is shipped soon or right after! Not sitting there. Get it?

...someone responded with an interesting definition of offsite, that might provide a little comfort.
