Two ways to get the best price: Find a one-price dealer like Jeff (05fordgt), or be prepared to shop around, be patient, and be ready willing and able to walk away from a dealer after they make you an offer. I also had some good success by inquiring about pricing via the Ford web site. In my case, the person who responded was already offering a reasonable deal because he knew I was comparing prices online. I got a much better offer later on because I let him think about it for a couple of months...

I'm in the same boat as you, not exactly sure how to get the best deal.
Would the Xplan price be the same as the Ford Family Discount price that they have in Canada in July?

Wow man, your '69 stang looks awsome...
But with the 2011 GT, I guess you will enjoy a bit more to have a daily driver...

Hope we can meet sometimes this summer at a Tim Hortons !

It all depends on how a certain stock I am hold does in the next few weeks. I am really insane, because I want to get a coupe for the track, but don't want to part with my convertible, it's such a fun car!

I am waiting to hear about Job 2, at which point I will either get the V6 performance pack, or the GT with the rumored Recaro seats, Brembo brakes, etc.

We will meet for sure, but with which car, i don't know. Today is a sad day, took 3 years to complete the '69 up to this level of retoration. But time to move on to something more driver friendly.

Not in general for me either. However, I am hopeful that in this case I will be able to make some really good use of my TFSA...

Tax Free Savings Account - it's for more than just holding GIC's. You can hold mutual funds, and most stocks as well.

5k per year, which makes 10k as of the beginning of this year. And that's what you can put in, it can grow much bigger if your investments do well. Then you can take out the money and not have to pay taxes of any kind on it.

In my case, I have been following the company I hold stocks in for the better part of the year. They are in the process of going through a really complex restructuring, (I had to read a 160+ page information circular -> = brain going 'pop'). If it works out well, I should have a new set of wheels by the end of the summer.
