You should be able to get 3,000 to 4,000 off sticker. I received just over $6,000 on my 07 with employee pricing. I would wait a little longer or get a better deal. That is no deal to me...Yes, the first of everything will be higher. I would wait until employee pricing in July to save at least $5,000 min...

I would order the same as you except the HID and my guess is around $37,000 to $38,000 with employee pricing...I will order in July/August. Going by what I received on my 07 my price would be about $36,479 plus GST... So $37,000 will work for me...

 

as were probably not gonna see these cars in cdn till late spring/early summer...i would wait and see if they do the employee pricing also....

 

See, when you always think you're getting a real good deal, and it turns out to be not such a good deal. What should i be expecting price wise at this point so early before production starts? Nothing i guess, but i'm still below MSRP. What would be a good deal at this moment in time before the car is even built. Tell me i'll drive there.

As soon as 'most' dealerships smell your anticipation, they'll use every tactic to get you to buy.
Even giving you a 'good deal' at a couple thousand off.

You should be able to at least negotiate it based on set prices you know exist. Invoice+Holdback and X plan are good starting points + a great dealer thats willing to work with you and not hide behind the curtain.

You want a good deal, but they have to eat too right...

 

I got a great offer from a dealer after visiting and taking a test drive, then telling him I was disappointed in the pricing vs. the US models. He came back to me a few weeks later with an offer to place an order for a 2009 model, just as pricing was announced. In my case, MSRP was 43724, and his offer was 39992.

 

Any idea on the discount and the difference in the interior ?

BTW, I got X-Plan; can we expect to get lower than that or not before late summer or fall ?

Ok then so based on my built car above with all known prices, what would be a fair deal for both the dealership and myself ? I know this salesman, bought from im in the past. What % would i have to go below MSRP ?

 

If you go by my example, then you should be getting an offer of ~39300$ before delivery.

I actually went back to look at the quote I got for the 2009 GT/CS, I actually saved a fair bit more than I thought!

 

Which brings up the total to $40650 CDN, i got a price od $41150 destination included, which isn't too bad after all. A diff of $500, i'll go meet him again , see what i can do with him. Final offer, and i don't want to call a friend.

 

Does he have your coordinates? If so, wait and he will call you with a better price. If he is hesitant, let him know you're also looking in the US, and give him the US MSRP and/or invoice to compare...

Last July/August during the Canadian Ford Family Pricing Plan promotion, a 2010 with the window price of about $44,500 was knocked down to $39,900 on the Mustang. Then I found out about the new 5.0 and decided to wait!

 

This will be my first new Ford so I'm not sure of the method to obtain the best price before ordering. At this time of year for a 2011 GT, is the X plan the best way to go or do you think a dealer can do better?
