Question CAI with tune??

I was curious if you install a CAI with a re-tune, will this void your warranty?

It can, depends on what problem you might have and whether the problem could have been caused by the mods.

Of course you can un-mod the car before taking it to the dealer for warranty work.

CAI and tune are easily removed.

Remove ONLY the Tune, no need to Spend 2 Hours Putting back the Stock Airbox, 99% of dealers do NOT have a Problem with CAI!! Especially since almost Every '05-'10 has one....

Many of the CAI's out there require a tune to operate properly so that is not a sure thing to do.

I was interested in the Steeda CAI which does require a tune to operate properly.

It's not that big of a deal to take it off and re-install the stock stuff and put the stock tune back in the computer.

Might take you all of an hour to do.

My dealer told me unequivocally that a tune WILL void the warranty - IF they can tell you did it. In other words if they cannot TELL you reflashed anything then they can't refuse the warranty.

But then they gave me dire warnings of how some tunes can go bad and destroy your engine, etc. The usual paranoia.

It's your choice, but my plan for my car is to leave things alone for awhile in that dept. Engine power is not exactly a weak point for my car, IMHO.
