CAI and puddles

I am assuming going through puddles is not a problem with a CAI in our vehicles. My friend cautioned me about them, but he has a Mazda 3 with intake and it is routed down to the wheelwell. I told him I don't see how mine could cause an issue considering the placement and that I have never read anything about that issue on these forums. Am I wrong? Yes, very noobish I know.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as it's not moved from it's original location. On my Eclipse if I wanted a CAI it would have to be routed down below the engine, and in that case yes it could suck up water if you go through a deep puddle (few people on the eclipse forums can attest to that lol).

State Farm bought a new (used) engine for my wife's 2003 Escape after some asshat in a monster-type pickup roared by her in a flooded parking lot. Didn't hurt him a bit... killed that Escape dead.

Totally different setup on these cars vs. most of the Mazda line. No need to worry. If you drive your car into a boat ramp front first, however, you might have a small problem.

I have a Steeda intake and tuner for sale if you're interested.
