As for that way more important performance figure—acceleration—Ford has declined to give us a figure. But we’re betting on a 0-to-60-mph number in the 4.6-to-4.8-second range and a quarter-mile run of under 13 seconds, based on that fact that we’ve consistently been able to hustle the Chevrolet Camaro SS to 60 in 4.9 seconds and through the quarter at 13 flat with all of its extra bulk.

Other than MMFF, all the major rags will use a showroom stock vehicle. Ford shoots themselves in the foot with their tire selection. That's why you see GT500's turning crap times in mags like Car and Driver. With Michelin PS2's you can throw a stock GT500 to a 4.0 to 60. Stock F1s, about 4.5.

HOPEFULLY it's better!! What does Ford have on 2010 TP? Last I knew they were using BFG KDWS's on the 18's, some Pirelli's on the 17's. If Ford puts Goodyear F1's on the 2011 track packed, cry.

I'd be happy to see the TrackPack come with Goodyear tires as long as they were the Eagle F1 GS-D3. (Pirelli PZero would be great, too.)

The 2010 Track Pack cars come equipped with 255/40/19 Pirelli P Zero's. These are also the tires pictured in the gallery showing the pics of the new 2011 19" wheels and Brembos. That tire comes as original equipment on bunch of factory hot rods ie: Merc C63 AMG, Lambo Murcielago, Audi R8, Ferrari 599 GTB etc...etc...I'd like to see a minimum 275mm treadwidth out back on the 2011's though, but I doubt Ford will forfeit the ability to rotate on the mainstream GT. Just my .02...

Those wheels/tires would be OK on the 2011. But, the 235 width on the spec sheet is way too narrow for a car with 412 HP. Maybe you can get a wider tread if you order a 19 inch wheel?
I guess we'll have to wait untill the order guide is out.....

The 2011 Mustang order banks shows three tire sizes: 235/50/18, 245/45/19, and 255/40/19. None of which will be enough traction for 412 hp & 390 tq.
My '07 GT makes about 455 hp & 385 tq at the flywheel so it's a fairly close comparison to the '11 GT powerwise. I just installed very grippy 255/45/18 Continental Extreme Contacts and can still blaze the tires in 3rd gear on dry pavement from a 40 mph roll, and these tires are much grippier than the cruddy factory BFG G-Force KDWS's that came on my car originally (which I was able to spin from a 90 mph roll in 4th gear - scared the crap out of me the first time it happened).
The 2011 really needs 10-11 inch wide rear wheels with 305-315 mm wide summer tires as an option (while keeping the 9 inch wide wheels with 255 mm width summer tires up front with the Brembo package).

tell me about it, try rolling around in a v6, and not being able to go WOT until 3rd gear with 295/45/18s lol
im guessing tires will be my first mod

During the summer months, I use my drag radials (BFG 275/40/17's) as my daily tires. I get about 5-6K miles out of a set, so they last two summers of daily driving and track days. At 18-20 psi, they hook awesome at the dragstrip. On the street, I run them at 30 psi, but they still hook infinitely better than any normal street tire ever could. Then, when fall approaches, the street tires have to go back on for the nine rainy months we get here in Seattle.

i would have loved to had another go for 11s, but the track closed, and i blew 4th gear synchro on the last run. i was 1.7x 60' all night, then on my last run i went to 12psi, and only clocked a 1.879 60'
heres my DD tire setup
heres my track setup
i've already put 30k miles on these tires, and id guess i have 15-20k more in them. nitto 555's

I predict similar times to the M3 at mid 12's @ 110+mph. Road and Track ran a new M3 to a 12.5@114mph, I expect similar times.
The GT will probably record similar times to 0-60 as the GT500 due to the fact the GT500 is so hard to hook up. I'm amazed when I hear the GT500 needs more power when it can't put to the ground the power it already has.
